@ Roose: the Unsullied may not know that Tyrion's gonna survive. And it added to the dramatic impact of the fight. I really doubt anyone thought that Tyrion would die. Jorah on the other hand. And agreed, it did.

I gave it an 8. Generally good episode, though a few scenes were either puzzling or outright annoying. On the plus side, you guys are starting to win me over. For show Stannis is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters.

The people who've rated this episode poorly only did so because they didn't care about the storylines that were featured. That's a pretty dumb way to evaluate the quality of something. I saw someone on a different forum say it was probably their least favorite episode ever for the same reasons.

10/10 for the finest episode of the season so far - loved Stannis and WF scenes. Emilia's acting was good and Valyria scene was terrific. The weak parts were the ones with the characters who really shou;dn't have that much screen time like Myranda. Also 5 name drops for Cat, what the fuck are you people doing to me

Reek's chapters are among my favorites in the books, so it's not that I don't care about the storyline, it's that I DO care, and they're fucking it up. Don't even get me started on Meereen in this episode....

7/10 Some good, some bad Some scenes felt kinda like they were in it to please fans, like Myranda and Sansa, and Jorah finally accepting Tyrion's friend request The scenes that stuck out were, for me The Stone Men scene, along with Jorahs 'discovery' at the end. Stannis' big send off, cause its building toward the big battle. Bolton dinner scene. I loved the Jon scenes, especially the Tormund scene and the watch members official club meeting. The mereen scene with Dany confused me a bit. Are they foreshadowing her going mad? Maybe. I've made my view on MisandeiXGreyworm clear already. Its a nono. The Brienne and Pod scene was pretty boring. There was no real fluency to the scene. Its obviously a set up to get her into winterfell, but spilling the beans to a random inn worker on the off chance he might be able to get her into winterfell seems a little dumb for a woman who is meant to be staunch and motivated. Its a pointless gamble that somehow payed off. Because Brienne ex machina. All in all a slow burner. Setting us up for the main events of fire and ice. Could have been worse. Definitely coukd have been better.

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm not going to tell someone how to feel about the show or what's happening. So if someone wants to give the show a 1 based on the fact that it didn't have a specific line they wanted to hear in it - oh, well. It's their vote. But I hated the Mereen storyline in ADWD. Detested it. It was sloppy, boring and an absolute mess of a storyline. It's damning with faint praise to say that the show is doing better than the books, because the show SHOULD be able to do better than the books. But I'm enjoying Dany's storyline. And I'm enjoying what they are doing there. The only thing I didn't enjoy this week was the Myranda stuff, but I'm guessing that's going to lead to further developments down the road, so I'm holding my opinion for now.

Some people will defend George no matter what though. Oh well.

There was a person in the thread who literally said they gave it a 5 because the episode spent a lot of time in Winterfell and they don't care for that storyline and didn't give any other reason why they thought it was bad.

Dany's inner struggle in Meereen is one of my favorite parts of that book, so I obviously strongly disagree with the show "improving" that storyline. I can't say there's anything in ASOIAF that I "detest", wish I could say the same for GoT.

Sadly those include scenes and characters a lot of people like. But its all for tge ultimate conclusion. And if it can afford to be cut, it will be. D&D are as bad at raybing, murdaring and keeeeeelling plotlines as Gregor Clegane.

I guess it just bothers me they cut characters like Arianne, Greyjoy brothers, Aegon/Jon Con, but we have time for stupid shit like Ramsay's girlfriend being jealous of Sansa. Seriously, wtf?

There's hundreds of characters in ASOIAF, why they feel the need to create their own is beyond me. Especially when it's at the expense of actual good characters being cut.
