Drogon looked like shit. Worst dragon CGI yet in this show. Denys Mallister just sat there. D&D a bit shallow for "best Ser Denys we could hope for"? Weaker than last week. Best CGI yet. I thought it looked brilliant. It looked amazing, top notch CGI.

Drogon looked better in 1080p than he did in 480p, which I wasn't expecting at all lmao.

am not sure if you are being sarcastic, but well. The CGI was good when he flied away, it was good in other moments too. But IMO it was the worst dragon CGI ever on this show, because it didn't look like Drogon or any other dragon in the series.

So far more than one of Dany's Dothraki serving is jailers? And guards. At least those guys seem to have Dothraki 'hair styles'. Also with Daario a Second Son , first time , off horse and not an officer, I guess. He has 2000 of them , where do they stay?

Neither Jack or I are being sarcastic, the CGI was great throughout the episode and especially Dorogn. Almost everyone else agrees that the CGI was great.

It's good that they are showing the DOthraki, the audience needs to get reacquainted with them if they are going to play a more important role next season.

In the book her Dothraki handmaidens (all of them) and her Bloodriders are still with her in Dance, in Meereen. Her tiny Khalasar is still with her too , but even in the Dance we don't know exactly where they are. Some are sent outside of Meereen to sort 'canvas' the countryside.

I was responding to your comment about the Second Sons in my first sentence. I still don't know why they had to kill all of Dany's Dothraki handmaids. They could have left one at least. Oh well...

Doreah killed Irri and got closed to a vault in season 2. Jhiqui disappeared after "It is known" scene in Season 1.

1. I'll bet his breath is awful
and
2. An arrow would be totally useless against that dragonskin. It looked like thick, hard boiled leather. dragon2
LOVED him.

Anyone going to rewatch The Wars to Come leading into The House of Black and White tonight? Absolutely! I always do that, gives me 2 hours of GoT every Sunday. Also, I watch the show on HBOGo, which always takes about 15 minutes after the show actually starts, before it begins. So, I'll start watching The Wars to Come at 8:15 and should be able to segue right into House of B&W right after. That also spares me the aggravation I used to go through, waiting til 9pm and then spending 15 frustrating minutes trying to get HBOGo to work!
HYPED!
:snape:
Do you only go back 1 episode? So on Sunday will you rewatch The House of Black and White before High Sparrow, or The Wars to Come and THoBaW?

Yes, just the House of Black and White, and then the new episode. That way by the season's end, I'll have seen each episode twice. (Although, I really loved House of Black and White so much that I'm sure I'll watch it again and again over time.)

Nice recap! I did notice a little typo: I adored Emilia Clarke's acting in this moment - she is the best in her scenes with dragons where she just nails the feeling of both loving them and being frightened. There is such joy on her face when she sees Drogon, her baby, safe and alive, but there is also fear because he is a dragon after all. Emilia wasn't very good this season but this year she is much better.
You meant last season, right?

My lunch almost landed on my computer with that first pic! :lolgiggle: I am no expert on CGI and we have a high def TV but Drogon really reminded of Smaug, I was expecting to hear Benedict Cumberbatch's voice for a second. I am not a huge fan of Emilia Clarke's acting at all, but I do feel she was very good in that scene with Drogon. She looked and acted very mother like.

There are a couple of reviewers on YouTube who thought the episode was boring because there wasn't enough action and it was more about plotting and discussion between characters. I feel like this might be because there is this high expectation now that since The Purple Wedding occurred in the second episode of Season 4, so people kept waiting for something big like that to happen in this episode. Jon's scenes from this episode were from his last two chapters of ASOS, and whether D&D are diverging from the books or not, for the rest of the storylines there really aren't a lot of WTF moments in AFFC and ADWD, especially near the beginning.
