I just realized that D&D gave Dany a cape - a white cape *wink*. Superheroine!

Yeah I'm pretty sure this was the most ambitious CGI scene ever produced for television.

I think it will be cool to see the remainder of Team Mereen lead as a Council - Tyrion as political advisor, Daario as military commander since Grey Worm is MIA/still injured, Missandei as translator/ambassador to cities, Jorah as something too, but my exam shattered brain can't think what. I think Jorah will try to do both advising and military command, and maybe he'll clash with Daario on that matter. My brain isn't working properly, so does anyone know if they've established the status quo of the relationship between Daario and Jorah in the show? We had these deep glances between the two in 5.09 before Jorah helped Dany to escape from the grandstand, but I can't remember anything else between them from previous seasons. What I remember so clearly is when Dario came bouncing down the hall after a "tryst" with Dany, practically humming, and he rounded a corner, nearly running straight into Jorah, who was coming to see Dany. That was another one of those absolutely crumbling looks on Jorah's face.

Emilia nailed it. You can see all the emotions running through her here.

Her eyebrows are almost separate limbs projecting from her face. Pretty much.

Emilia Clarke is absolutely gorgeous imho. The only time her eyebrows (lol such a silly thing to be discussing) standout to me are in her Dany wig.

I finally watched the scene after initially giving it a 5, and I'm sticking with it. 5 is the low end of my "okay" rating. Major caveats: 1. Hollywood style moment between Dany/Drogon came off as WTF in the middle of a battle. 2. Drogon was significantly undersized for how often they had shown him that season. One of the cool things about GOT is seeing the dragons getting bigger each time they reappear. They're flying over the sea in Season 3.01. Then they're big when they're next to Dany in 4.01 on the rocks, and then Drogon gets even larger when he shows up to burn that sheep somewhere. Then he shows back up in 5.02 but he's about as large as the Rhaegal and Viserion we saw in 5.01, and he doesn't noticably grow for the rest of the season. Thus, when he shows back up in Daznak it's not as a huge towering OMG dragon its... just a dragon again. Was kind of weak in that regard. I was expecting something like this. 3. The blocking in the arena was pretty weird. They don't have that much space so the entourage is jogging from the Harpies to the other side of the arena. It didn't feel like chaos. 4. Drogon looked like he was about to die to spears after he jumped into the pit, rather than cooking people left and right. Coming off the tails of Hardhome, it felt particularly weak. Not terrible, but there were some major things about the scene that just missed the mark to be epic.
