Was it as good as you imagined it would be?

Didn't like the no-whip/taming.

I need to see a non-laggy version of it before I can truly judge.

Sorry Posted my agression in the wrong thread lol I liked the flight I thought the fight leading up to it was a bit dull though. Could have been a lot better.

I really hate that it closed on a shot of Tyrion though. Urgh.

The flight was good, although I really wanted Dany to tame him but I guess they didn't have the budget for it. Also, because I watched it on my iPad the CGI was iffy.

Very good, but too short.

Wasn't good but it wasn't bad. The CGI itself was good when Drogon arrived and got progressively weaker. But besides that, there was a lot of just standing around after Drogon showed up rather than continued chaos. The whip would have worked better than the pause for touching moment thing.
The scene also came on the heels of Shireen burning which sucked all the life out of the episode for me.

The whole set up with the three dragon screams gave me chills. Drogon's entrance was pure awesomeness.

Something I didn't catch due to laggy stream, but had Drogon killed all the SotH before leaving? Otherwise Dany just fucked off and left everyone else to die

Although they're all there next week so she probably thought that after Drogon did his damage her peeps could take care of the rest.

I felt the lighting while Dany rode in Drogon was very strange. The whole scene gave me Harry Potter Quidditch match vibes, I don't know. Maybe it'll be better in a rewatch without the Shireen scene ahead.

Figured having more money this year they might do more elaboration. Have to wonder doing CGI as a visual narrative takes some fineness , Nutter is a fine director but would have like seen Miguel Sapochnik doing this one.
One thing that kind of showed some short changing the VFX , instead of having a tight show of Dany mounting Drogon, should also have been a long shot or pull back shot , that might have entailed CGI-ing Emilia. I think there is a making of ... will have to find that.

Watching it again on HBO GO can't give Nutter KuDu's for action pacing. Too many pauses , old Hollywood ploy, not up to Sam Peckinpah composition. Drogon's landing was great, CGI remained good, but the integration of action needed more juice.
