I thought his size was about right tbh. At that point in the book Drogon is probably a little larger than a horse, with about a 20 ft wingspan. If anything he was a little bigger than he should be. I was quite happy with how he looked. I just watched it for a second time, and I liked it even more this time. There is really only 1 cgi shot I thought looked weak (the first shot of Dany's face after lift off), the rest looked pretty good imo. They should have made her wig blowing more, but that's a minor nitpick. Also, I noticed Dany said something in Valyrian to make Drogon fly. Couldn't make out what it was. Really like the music for the final scene too. Valahd. (a la closed captioning) |

I'm 99% sure it was just "fly"  It was Valyrian. She said "Valahd". I watch with the GO subtitles. |

Did anyone think that there was anything to Dany's clasping hands only with certain other characters during the chaos? She held hands with Missandei, for sure. And I think Jorah? Did she take Daario's hand at some point? Tyrion was notably absent from these gestures, I think. Was wondering if it was some sort of foreshadowing.

I gave it a seven. It was pretty good. But, much less intense than the book scene somehow. I'm at a loss as to explain why, but it was somehow lacking a bit. Tyrion's reactions, however... incredibly well done. Glad Jorah is back in with the cool kids. Did anyone think that there was anything to Dany's clasping hands only with certain other characters during the chaos? She held hands with Missandei, for sure. And I think Jorah? Did she take Daario's hand at some point? Tyrion was notably absent from these gestures, I think. Was wondering if it was some sort of foreshadowing. I got a higher res version for my avi. Link?  Still not that good, but a little better than the freeze frame I was getting. Slightly more colorful and zoomed in. Got it off Google Images. I'm really hoping HBO releases an HQ one. |

And it struck me as odd and perhaps significant somehow. Or, perhaps I'm just reading too much into it.  |

I just thought Jorah extended his hand to help her down but that her accepting it was significant, suggesting that she had finally forgiven him. I watched it twice but didn't notice her taking Daario's hand, I'll have to go back and watch that part again. With Missandei, I thought that was powerful, sort of holding hands for mutual support as they faced what must have seemed like certain death. I like the balance that has been maintained between the two, handmaiden & mistress, but also a mutual caring and closeness that is more like friendship. |

Picture is courtesy HBO  You know in the book some on the ground thought Dany had or would fall off. She seems to have a good grip here. If Drogon was any bigger it would be hard to sit astride him. Have to hope he doesn't do any Immelmann's or Hammerhead's!! Those look like Dothraki leathers , how'd she know to dress that way??!! Anyway a little Valyrian barebacking! |
