I fucking love Sizemore. “It’s not plagiarism...you try writing three hundred stories!” Shogunworld was incredible and the Paint it Black reprise was awesome. Armistice and her Equivalent staring and mimicking one another was golden. And Maeve is a total boss and I love so much what they are doing with her. Hopefully this episode put to rest any lingering doubt people had that she is truly “woke” and not just running another narrative. She gave up her chance for escape and freedom because of the sweet ‘memories’ of her daughter. The mind and heart are not rational and Maeve is embodying that. She is a great foil to bloodthirsty vengeful Delores

Did Dolores have Teddy reprogrammed to be a tougher/harder version of himself? I was a little confused about that scene. Sizemore was great in this episode, as was Thandie Newton and Rinko Kikuchi.

I think Akane will fight for what she cares about but not go overboard. yes, Delores had him reprogrammed even though she knew it was dangerous to him. She doesn’t think current Teddy is capable of surviving the road she means to take them on. Wondering whether her fly/cow speech will become more relevant by the end. It’s possible the drowned hosts we saw are part of her plan - the weak who have to be sacrificed so the rest can survive. It’s very sad seeing where the brutality visited on Dolores has left her Not Westworld related, but you should checkout Evan Rachel Wood’s testimony to Congress about sexual assault. Not for the faint of heart but incredibly brave and moving

I haven't been invested this much in a tv series in a very long time as the episodes keeps getting better. I'm more interested in Meave's storyline than any other characters in the season so far. I'm loving Akane and especially the Shogun Hector. I know the actor in some of his previous films and i'm so damn happy how much he perform well in this show. The scenes with Meave and Hector discovering their Shogun counterparts is hilarious. stoneheartsrevenge I just look up about it. Fuck. Fuck. Now the rape scenes in the first season make it more painful to watch it again.

I did see snippets of ERW's testimony to Congress and it's heartbreaking. I remember her being a kid on Once and Again. Singer of Death, yes, the scenes of Maeve, Hector and Armistance meeting their Shogun counterparts was hilarious.

Shogun world was amazing
FARKK (i did see the episode last week but haven't had time to repst)
I'm not sure what is Dolores' end game? does she expect to take over the world? does she even know how big the world is... she saw one city which is not exactly the world. If scientists can make these robots, then what other technology could exist?
I'm much more interested in Maeve's storyline. It's more humanistic, just a quest to find her daughter. She made a real philosophical point last week about what is deemed real? If the robots are conscious to the point they are finding their own stories and ruling their own lives, why is the love they felt not 'real'? This week explored what sizemore was saying, in that they are programmed to be a certain way. Let's see what Maeve's new power will bring. Wonder if it will become an asset for the human side? if she can control the robots...it could be contrary to what Dolores wants.

How did Maeve get this power?
I think Dolores is going to come to regret making Evil!Teddy. He doesn't seem to thrilled with her and I think he could turn on her.
I hope this is the not the last we see of Akane.
And FORD!!!

I hope this is the not the last we see of Akane. And FORD!!! Seems like Maeve is tapping into the Mesh network that was mentioned before. As for how, I guess with increasing self-awareness she notices more things about herself. It was utterly heartbreaking to see her realise her daughter had been assigned a new mother. I mean I knew it was coming, how could it not have been, it was obvious the story hadn’t just been abandoned once Maeve got reassigned. But yeah, hurt all the same. Gah, my brittle heart. HOPKINS BABY YEAH! So Ford hasn’t created a host body for himself to be immortal. He chose something much more permanent - to download his consciousness into the park itself. Makes sense given his god complex. And his speech to Theresa in season one becomes more sinister. God damnit but Emily and William was great stuff. And hope Mad Queen reassess his opinion based on the previous 10 seconds of Emily, the actress was great in this episode. Larger themeatic stuff. Maeve seems like the foil to Dolores. Maeve is all about free will (even if that choice is death ) whereas Dolores is forcibly determining what the hosts that follow her must be.

Thanks for explaining about Maeve..I am guessing all of the "bots" (I hate calling them that) are in that network too and don't know it and can hear her commands then. That was a heartbreaking scene when she realized her daughter had a new mother and didn't recognize her as her mother. I kind of thought that Ford did download his consciousness into the park and that the kids (young Ford & Lawerence's daughter) had some of his consciousness but not the whole shebang. Looks like Bernard found it. Yes, I really liked the scenes with Emily and William. She was very good in this episode. Good catch on Maeve and Dolores-Maeve being about free will and Dolores forcing the hosts to be what she wants them to be because she thinks she's saving them.

Well Bernold mentions the mesh network as connecting all hosts and used it to track Abernathy for Charlotte. Alternative explanation is Maeve somehow tapping the cradle but I’m not sure about that, will need to think it through. Speaking of the Cradle, it was hella creepy. And I now understand why some people were creeped out by Black Mirror’s SAN Junipero...the Cradle is basically what we see at the end of that episode, with the consciousness of the Hosts stored in one place...they even have their own little reality like SJ! Next episode looks freaking awesome. Dolores riding the train into the Mesa...it’s going to be a massacre. If you watch the trailer there’s is more trippy stuff going to happen too...

Wow i think i've missed something
I thought that chick was dead? Ellie? i can't even remember her name.
This episode was interesting but i'm getting confused with the timelines. I feel like i've missed an episode.
Really great performance by Ed Harris and Maeve this episode. Sad to say goodbye to Japan/shogun world. The samurai fight was amazing.
EDIT: just looked it up, definitely missed the scene where Emily is taken by the indians and held captive. Okay this makes sense now. i think the actress is great btw. Her first scene on the show was excellent in the cold open.

It also reveals that Bernard knocked Elsie unconscious in s1 and dragged her to the cave, then has the reveals about Bernard taking the host brain thingy from the lab. That was episode 4 I think

Totally not expecting the next episode to solely focus on the Ghost Nations. This should be interesting as it looks like one of the Ghost Nation character learn about his consciousness before Dolores? Off-track from the main storyline, but looking forward to see how it unfold.
Aaand Antony Hopkin returns to slay everyone's acting this season again.

Finally caught up. So Ford cloned himself? But Bernard is hallucinating him? Huh?

Finally caught up. So Ford cloned himself? But Bernard is hallucinating him? Huh? No. Ford downloaded his consciousness into one of those brain thingies, like James Delos. He has Bernard carry that brain and place it into the Cradle. When Bernard went into the Cradle himself, Ford downloaded into Bernard. So Bernard is both himself and a vessel for Ford’s mind, which is causing him to glitch. No hallucinations, just a visual representation of Bernard hearing Ford talking in his mind. i suspect Ford is just using Bernard to get to the Valley Beyond and whatever is there...

Fuck. That's an utterly sad episode. "That was the moment i saw beyond myself. My pain was selfish. Because it was never only mine. For every body in this place there was someone who mourned their loss. Even if they didn't know why." Edit: And for the iconic theme played for this episode.

Zis Guy right here was correct about the mesh network and Maeve. Just sayin’. Loved it. Dolores Deathbringer...it seems like she is less ‘free’ than she thought and is at least in part still dancing to Ford’s tune though there are signs she may be coming to full ‘awareness’ with the way she speaks with her father etc
