If this was all pre-planned with the Dornish coup (considering the guards looked like they were involved I'd say it was), the men on the boat may have been involved, in all likelihood there would have been a boat waiting for the Sand Snakes to be taken to the boat. As the boat was moored, they would have had time to catch up with it.
SO, at Castle Black, they aren't actually protecting Jon's body. They are hiding from Thorne. That makes more sense. I'm assuming that they are in some sort of apartment and Mel has been allowed to use the bedroom.
Ser Davos did look confused at what was in the snow. I shall re-watch as soon as it is available on catch-up.
The worst part for me was Daario and Jorah. I used to like Ser Jorah, but he just annoys me now. Also I'm probably one of the few who does not have the hots for Daario.

Better than expected. I gave it an 8/10. Premier's aren't usually the best episodes as they are usually a reintroduction into the story. This was not the case as much this season. Did you complete your goal of reading all the speculation before the season started? I agree, better than expected. I didn't hate Dorne as much as I expected. The Doran kill can be justified, but not Aero just lying down dying after being stabbed in the back (unless it will be explained the dagger was poisoned or something). I did, with about 8 days to spare. I'm going to go with the poisoned dagger. A bit like the fact that Mel's age is now showing when she removes the necklace because she is losing her faith. Although I think the latter probably has some truth to it.

She smelled of dog. That made me really chuckle. It started off romantic.

I watch on my laptop and it takes forever for it to get into focus on Sky Go. So I won't be posting during the show. I shall join the thread afterwards. I now need to log on and wait for it to get into focus. By that point Jon Snow will be lying in the snow with blood pouring out.

Me too. Seasons 2 & 3 were heavy going at times and I initially got confused between characters. I was unsullied at the time and there were too many characters and it moved on too quickly.

I don't like wine, but I've got a fabulous wine goblet. So I found some nice low calorie cherry juice to make it look like a nice Dornish red. I might add vodka next time. Only 4 and a half hours. Your goblet with cherry juice sounds divine! I am doing something similar with pomegranate juice because I don't like regular wine with my sushi and didn't feel like splurging on good saki too haha. I drank half my premiere bottle Friday night so tonight I'm just going to have juice too. I have to get up and work in the morning, no headaches! We're almost at the 2 hour mark, this is so exciting! I'm watching season 5 finale right now as part of my last minute re-watch of season 5 I started on Thursday. Sounds nice. My worry is with alcohol I might miss something. Plus there is only one red wine that I like. I mean it is literally only from a specific vineyard. A small one in South Africa and I'm not paying to have a case shipped to the UK. It'd cost a fortune. Under 2 hours to go.

I just can't figure out the logistics - so someone rides off to get the wildlings. Davos and Edd are in the room witha bunch of hostile NW outside. Mel is in another room scaring the shit out of every single male watching this show who had fantasies about her. Unless she pulls Scarlet Witch and knocks NW on their asses how will she join Davos in the room with Jon? But I think somehow she will and that scene where she is crying precedes Jon's resurrection I thought she started out crying with Davos. She goes to her room and turns into a leather purse while Davos and co find Jon's body. Or something. I'm still not getting why Ser Davos would try and protect Jon's body. It makes no sense to me whatsoever. I guess we'll find out in 2 and a half hours.

The sigil of House Martell is a sun pierced by a spear. Trystane gets speared through the face by Maybe it was an accident and Dorne are trying to put together a javelin team for the Olympics.

Is this from the first episode as well?! It's from 504, just a different angle. The scene where Mel tells him, "You know nothing, Jon Snow." You're right, it has been rotated. His eyes are open.

Hmm, I'm not sure, the lighting and shadows seem correct but somebody hand with PHOTOSHOP could have done it. If it is real. I don't think it's from the first episode or else we would have heard about it, as it would be a big fucking deal. Nobody would question this if we hadn't have seen the shots from yesterday.

It looks like it could be showing the entire process. If they are using mainly prosthetics and minimal CGI, then Mel growing older in front of our eyes would be a fairly complicated process.

I wonder if it is related to her aging. She might give Jon some of her life force type thing. Or it could be fake.

I wonder if it is the same clip of the overthrowing an empire speech. I'm doubtful because it would be silly for the High Sparrow to reveal his plan to Jamie so early in the season. I also wouldn't be shocked if he holds back the information about Cersei and Lancel initially. The High Sparrow will want to get a measure of the type of man Jamie is before he does something like that. It isn't his style to just plunge in with that sort of information without knowing who he is dealing with.

I'm going to be patient with Dorne. When you remove Aegon from the plot, it starts to change the usefulness of characters. The show are only keeping the important end game characters, which suggests to me that the Sand Snakes must be important to the end game. I doubt this is just random revenge. This is planned and I think it is a coup to overthrow Doran which started with sending Myrcella's necklace to Kings Landing.
I wouldn't be shocked if either Varys or Littlefinger have got something to do with this coup. I'm expecting it to be Varys. Maybe one SS will go to Oldtown and end up meeting Sam (that might be season 7). Maybe one is sent to Kings Landing.
We know that the show is reverting to some of the book plots, could Dorne be one of the areas where the show is reverting to some semblance of the book plot, a more concise version with fewer characters.

Why are so many of you complaining when we haven't even seen how the Dorne storyline pans out this season yet? It could turn out to work well! Eh, do you trust the Sand Snakes to carry the Dorne storyline on their own? It's called the Dornish Masterplan.
