I always assumed his name was probably Aemon but to hide him Ned renamed him Jon.

Lena. No question, although Bella Ramsey was awesome again.
The acting this episode was fantastic.

So who is now left to tell Jamie about Lancel? Bronn, Tyrion and Sandor? I don't imagine her unfaithfulness to him will play a part in their break at this point. If they wanted that there was ample opportunity to do so when he was in KL. I think it will be her going all Aerys on KL that changes his mind. Hearing what she did to the Sept with wildfire (and probably in s7 will threaten to do to the whole city as armies begin to march on KL) will do the trick and bring him full circle back to the moment when he killed Aerys. I think the only thing he wouldn't forgive Cersei for (in the show) is her cheating on him. He's not going to be around when Kings Landing goes boom. The only thing I can see is that he'll blame himself for not being there and trying to stop her, but I don't think he'll kill her for it.

why the hell are jon and sansa not thinking about bran though? sansa ESPECIALLY knows that Bran is alive. And really why hasn't Sansa told Jon about that. and why wouldn't sansa tell jon that when he's crowned KITN? Jon knows Bran's alive too. He knew before Sansa. I think the issue is that it was a long time since Sam saw Bran and Jon knows Bran went north of the wall. Jon knows what is north of the wall and probably doesn't rate Bran's survival chances very high.

My other half preferred episode 8. That's because Frankenmountain pulled off a sparrows head. Also, he was trying to outdo me and was trying to get spoilers and was adamant that Ramsey would be imprisoned and survive and that Tormund would die. I knew that he was wrong and her doesn't like me getting one up on him.

I thonk Jon becoming King of the North would suit Sansa. It would protect her. Jon could refuse LF marrying her. He would be the one to decide LF's reward. As long as they can trust each other, then this would be her ideal outcome as she'd co-rule with him but without the title.

My next point is Mel. This is my take on the situation.
They've kind of explained why she's in the background. She no longer knows what to believe. She still believes in the LOL but, she doesn't understand where he's leading her. She knows she is on a journey but doesn't know where it is leading. She now realises that Stannis was a means to be introduced to Jon. So does that mean Jon is the one? Or does it mean that Jon is to introduce her to someone else who is the one. I think she believes that the PTWP must be of royal blood, and as far as Mel is aware, Jon isn't. I think that is what is confusing her.
After the battle, I think she realised it was Jon after all. She has always been rubbish at predicting battles. It has always gone the wrong way. This time it went exactly as she had predicted Stannis battle would go.

I think Sansa, after all that she has been through, thought she had a lot to offer initially to help them defeat Ramsey as it was her idea in the first place. Jon is fighting at Sansa's request. he was ready to pack up and go somewhere warmer. After they agree to help her, they pretty much ignore her. She's only a woman good at sewing. They had to lure Ramsey out otherwise it would have been a siege. Jon's army was Ramsey bait. There is no way Ramsey would have gone to battle if he'd have known about the Vale.
If Jon had have known and Ramsey didn't, what would have happened? Jon would have still been tricked by what Ramsey did. It wouldn't have changed anything. Alternatively Jon wouldn't have agreed to the battle so soon.
Sansa is very familiar with psychopaths and sociopaths. Jon isn't. Jon is very naive in the ways of the world. Sansa trusts his love and devotion, but she doesn't trust his judgement. He lets his heart rule his head.
If they learn to listen to each other, utilise each other's skills and trust each other, then they would make a very formidable team. They could do with one of Tyrion's drinking games to get to know each other. This time with complete honesty.
A completely separate point, when Jon emerged from the crush of people, I felt like that was his true resurrection. That is when he decided to live again. I now think old Jon will be back. It snapped him out of his melancholy and he had purpose again. Thank god for that.

The cinematography was stunning. The battle was confusing, which is a good thing. A good battle scene needs that for realism.
I loved Sansa's smirk at the end. Makes me think of when Tyrion said that Sansa's not a killer, not yet. I think she'd kill if she had to now.

All of this excitement and hype is giving me indigestion. take a gaviscon and join the HYPE I've had 2 Ranitidine and a Rennie. Snowbowl and the F1 European GP within 12 hours of each other is a lot of excitement for the body to handle. One of the drivers is a massive fan and retired from the race early. I reckon it was to go home early to watch Snowbowl.

As per usual I can't contribute during the show. I'll read up afterwards and then give my response.
