Pulling for Mad Max best picture, George Miller director, Deakins over Lubezki, Tom Hardy, Leo, Morricone for score and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
Would have had Benicio and Idris Elba in the supporting actor spots but it was a super strong year for that category

I have to watch a lot of movies before the show, I'm actually watching Spotlight this weekend, I'm excited about that. Still need to see Brooklyn, Fury Road (I know!), and Room. I still haven't seen Bridge of Spies, The Reverent, and The Big Short but I have no interest in seeing them.

I forgot to mention something, for those of you more plugged in to the award season Rachel McAdams nomination is a bit out there , isn't it. I can't remember her receiving many nomination or much buzz. Also, Alicia Vekander would also get a best Actress nomination but apparently was snubbed in that category.

I just cannot believe Hardy got nominated. The sound I made when I saw his name is just out of this world. Leo's star power really is massive - the same thing happened to Jonah Hill 2 years back - no BAFTA, no SAG, no GG nominations and then BAM - I was happy for Jonah but I'm fucking ecstatic for Hardy

I'll be heavily rooting for everything The Revenant related. Leo, Tom, Inarritu, and Lubezki.
I'm really bummed Fury Road had to be the same year, otherwise I would want to see Best film and Best Director go that way. Even if it probably would never have a real shot.

Which sadly I think is likely from everything I hear about his performance.

I would be happy with either winning I guess but I think Sly was a little greater.

Mcadams was okay but didn't stand out really.

Oh I'm glad Tom is nominated and most likely going to the ceremony but me and others were saying - if Stallone is nominated, he is winning. He barely makes my own line up but it's a beautiful performance and will be a worthy and spectacular win and a great Oscar moment

Oscars are going to get the Oscars so white criticism again.
Really sad not to see any love for Beasts of No Nation. Would have loved to see Ryan Coogler for Best Director too.
My predictions: Revenant for Best Pic, Irrantiu for Director again, Leo is best actor, Brie Larson best actress, Sly for supporting, Jennifer Jason Leigh for supporting (I have a blind love for her).

I'd love to see her win.

Just as last year, this whole OscarsSoWhite thing pisses me off. The only snub this year appears to be Elba. That's it. They are coming up in those articles with those who were snubbed but the actress in Tangerine was in tiny, indie movie and Oscar Isaac really didn't get that much notice among critics or Academy memebers for Ex-Machina. At least this year I'm given to understand Elba would be a worthy nominee, last year it was Selma which imho was incredibly mediocre movie so it really didn't deserve any nominations Del Toro was snubbed for Sicario. But he is a previous Oscar winner and really didn't get much chance for nomination this year, sadly. The problem is with industry not with Academy in particular. Sure, Academy nominating with diversity could make a bit of a difference, but who should be nominated - someone who deserves it or someone who would be nominated for reasons other than quality of performance? Great actors miss every year and i don't think Elba missed out because of the color of his skin

Yesss Brie! Super bummed that Tremblay didn't get nominated as well, he was fantastic. Also really happy about the Mad Max love and Ex Machina getting a nod for original screenplay.
Definitely going to try to watch most of these before the ceremony; so far I've only seen Room and Mad Max.
