I haven't seen Sicario, but The Revenant is absolutely gorgeous. It look like a painting in motion. That Oscar was well deserved imo. It's very well shot, but Sicario was so far above it, IMO. What Deakins did with simple things there is amazing. He didn't have already beautiful snowy wilderness on his side like Lubezski did. Agreed plus Deakins should have won for Prisoners over Gravity. Ah well, maybe whenever Blade Runner 2 comes out Deakins will win.

What a wonderful set of winners. I haven't been so pleased with the outcome of an Oscar ceremony in... ever. There were so many pleasant surprises, including Mad Max taking home so much gold and an upset in an acting category. And there were only two blips! Felicia making Tom Hooper the director of 3 consecutive films with an acting and Alekandria J Iyatitu once again takin director from someone more deserving and definitely more inspired.

I am especially happy for Morricone's victory. A Master of his craft, with an outstanding career and so many classic original soundtracks. One of the greatest living composers, if not the greatest... See him finally receive an Oscar was one of the higlights of the night for me.

I am glad to see Leo finally got his win. And total class of him to thank Scorsese, I think working with Scorsese really helped people see that Leo really could act and was more than a teen heartthrob. And they work well together. I also like that Leo speaks about environmental issues and glad he took the time to do so during his speech.
I do think Cinderella did deserve the best costume win.
I would have liked to see Sly win but the category was down to him and Mark Rylance.

Wait, who? You gotta be more specific. Gurl. Richard Sorry! Some people here have been referring to Billy Magnussen as "my man", because apparently I'm the only one who finds him hot. I only saw that they showed clips of Richard from Cinderella once or twice. Was he there?

Also. I liked Chris Rock's opening monologue, but he started to really piss me off as things went on, because not only did he refuse to let the diversity issue go at any point, but he made it pretty clear that to him, diversity just meant "black". Urgh. There was a skit where he asked randos all about how they felt that no black people got nominated and one of them gave a shout out to Asians and hispanics (the only such shout out of the night) and he had such a wtf look on his face...

Agreed. Also, I'm not a big fan of his song, but I'm happy Sam Smith won. His acceptance speech put a big smile on my face.

I don't like the song but I liked Sam Smith's shout out to the gays. And I hate that he's getting shit for not knowing he wasn't the first openly gay man to win an Oscar.

Chris Rock used his Oscars hosting to sell Girl Scout Cookies. Girl Scout parents are ruthless, man. Those little green shits are like drug dealers.
