Jon's whole approach to the Northern campaign has... not at all been what I expected. First he didn't even want to do anything and now he wants to march towards certain death when they are still massively outnumbered? I thought he was supposed to be good at this LOL. Sansa had no choice but to enlist Littlefinger. No surprise there. Now she'll be indebted to him again. That crafty fucker. why would she be indebted to him??? He owes her, and she's calling in that favour.

I loved this episode. My only complaint that it was too short. Nice to see old Jamie starting to appear. That Arya scene, something seems wrong. I wasn't too bothered before the episode about the Hound returning as he's not one of my favourite characters, however, I'm going to say I loved it. Ian McShane was awesome. The little girl who played Lyanna was brilliant. She was fierce. Kings Landing looks like something is finally going to happen. The Greyjoy plot moved forward. The acting was good and it did what was needed. However it wasn't spectacular. The picture looked strange. I wonder if they used different filters. Yeah, the cold open with Sandor and McShane in their happy little village almost looked like from another show/movie, I almost expected them to do the Safety Dance. Nothing wrong with it, it was perfectly fine, just kind of strange

Maisie Williams is brilliant, y'all. Really, really brilliant. Compare her behavior as Mercy last week to her behavior as the new and improved Arya Stark this week. She has a completely different bearing and tone of voice, a different expression on her face, everything. And I believed her stabbing. That made me a little light-headed. Whee. No way Arya dies, though. No way. She has to use her skills for something or she wouldn't have gone to the Faceless Men in the first place. She really is an amazing young lady ... she pulled off that mortal wound very convincingly... I was on the verge of tears no one was stopping to help her! Braavos is some cold cold people! I felt like that whole thing was a dream sequence for some reason. It felt real but not really real. Does that make any sense?! I am continually amazed they keep sneaking in shocker scenes like this that even the spoiler sources didn't know about! I'm wondering if it actually was Arya who got stabbed.

I think it's because of his "Bastard complex" or something. This may be entirely intentional to show his weaknesses the way Daenerys isn't always the greatest when talking to 'peers' she's ruling over. As for the letter Sansa wrote Littlefinger, the only thing that had me concerned was the ominous tone of the music. They're planning something... who knows what. Would Sansa promise Littlefinger something in return for his help?

So is Mel is just gone?
Maybe she's off to see Dany with everyone else. /s
I guess she was with them somewhere but it was a little weird. Oh well.

Still waiting for Cersei to become interesting again. Any day now... She's a fucking coiled spring. When she explodes it will be all the better for these episodes of silent rage.

Sansa is getting so annoying this season. She just keeps talking about the Starks and expecting everyone to bend to her will because she wants them to. AND she dares question Davos, AND she dares insult the Mannis. I feel the exact opposite. This is the first season I've actually liked her.

Still waiting for Cersei to become interesting again. Any day now... Ugh I feel you tho. I know what she's doing and what the reason the writers are having her act the way she is, but i need that ultraviolence already. She was essentially trying to get Olenna to fight the Sparrows for her, and got her ass handed to her. That look at the end though shows the facade is starting to crack and she's mad as hell.

Idk why people are worried about that, he owes her and a mutual understanding of that was established in episode 5.

I will say Olenna had her shaken up a bit there... did you see that gleam in Cersei's eye at the end of Olenna's smack-talk speech? The madness is in their brewing. They are just taking a loooong time to bring it out of her. Saving it for the last couple episodes is my guess.

Would Sansa promise Littlefinger something in return for his help? No, I don't think so. I think the ominous music is indicative of the fact that she had broken free of him and now she will be back in his sphere of influence. I think she will feel indebted to him or at least like he has paid his debt to her. Either way, I don't think it's good for Sansa, but it's necessary for getting Winterfell back.

Oh that's where you're wrong olenna. She certainly can!

Wow!!! Where to start? First off, I'm tickled pink that The Hound got so much screentime, and FINALLY his own POV! I loved watching him swing that ax. I'll bet Rory enjoyed the chance to show off a bit, given his background as a forester/lumberjack. Ian McShane was wonderful. I hated to lose the septon so quickly. I was a bit disappointed that it played out so differently from the books, but it was still pretty good. Jaimie kicked ass today. I always enjoy him more when he's apart from Cersei. And Bronn got best quote IMO. Lady Lyanna should be ruler of Westeros. Seriously. She could kick Dany's ass. But the big shocker to me was Arya getting stabbed. That looked like a mortal wound. How's she going to overcome that? Let's not get carried away.

Would Sansa promise Littlefinger something in return for his help? Maybe promising she will marry him in exchange for his help and the Vale army. Hopefully this is a trap. Maisie Williams is brilliant, y'all. Really, really brilliant. Compare her behavior as Mercy last week to her behavior as the new and improved Arya Stark this week. This episode felt much more intimate than this show usually is. Partly from almost all of it being in Westeros for once, but mostly because of the way Sandor's re-introduction was handled, and how much of an isolated, single-episode arc it was. You wouldn't expect that at this late stage.
It's also the most thematically consistent episode in a while. Most storylines were about rediscovering yourself and who you are, which was neatly bookended by the most obvious case of that in Sandor.
Edit: Also he's one of ma faves (of which I don't have many) and I'm so damn glad he's back.

Cersei's final downfall to madness has begun...
