Nezzer - did Alt-Shift-X just use part of your CLEGANEBOWL hype video in his?! Either way, he totally hyped it at the end - yay!! I also liked the part he brought up about Maege Mormont and Tormund Giantsbane having been lovers which was a rumor in the books (since he loved a bear once haha). That would make little fierce Lyanna his daughter! He DID say Jon Snow was prettier than all his daughters and Lyanna denies she'll be a great beauty! My CLEGANEBOWL video? I think you're talking about Davey's video Oh crap that's right it's DaveyJoe's video - sorry Davey!

Basically sums up my issues with Jon and the Hound this season. They made such a big deal of their resurrection/comeback for them to be essentially the same character (save for a few moments here and there). Benjen has a more interesting comeback than either of them and he's a third-tier character. Hard to understand these decisions sometimes

Tormund didn't bring every wildling with him to CB, so only that small group thought he "was some kind of god", not the larger group. Hence the need to convince offbrand Tormund and his crew.

Aren't all the wildlings living right next to Castle Black? I'm sure they heard what happened and they believed Tormund's word for it. Whether they all think Jon is some kind of god I've no idea, but it's plausible. It's a pretty minor footnote, anyway. I had no problem with that scene as it showed the difference between how wildlings and northerners operate.

George didn't establish a nine-year-old kid having half his face burned off with one of the most intense sibling rivalries of fiction so there wouldn't be some type of dramatic payoff.

Jon's resurrection and the Hound's return were both phenomenally well done, and if we weren't such nerd fans, we would have been shocked by both things, especially the Hound. They are both changed. They've both come back broken. Jon seems directionless and, well, depressed to use a modern word. Sandor learned to care about people again right before he was set back on a path of vengeance. You notice he's not taking off after Gregor at the moment. He's looking for justice for those people who were murdered. That is a new Sandor. Anyway, for both of these guys, I think the payoff will be seen over the course of the season, and we'll be following their stories, while Benjen's big comeback is done. He'll just be a supporting character to Bran now.

Right now, he strikes me as an alcoholic who after a long abstinence found the right excuse to go back and have twenty drinks in a row.

I don't think anyone was shocked when Jon came back. That was the most obvious twist ever.

Changed physically sure, but that was because he got Dragonglass shoved in his heart and was on the way to being zombie-fied. Emotionally, he doesn't really seem that different. He's pretty much Benjen who just knows more and has "seen some shit". As far as the Hound, he's always just been a guy who wants to be on his own with no one bothering him. He's never been bloodthirsty or especially aggressive. Being rescued by Meribald/Ray just gives him the ability to disappear from his old life the way he's always wanted. I didn't think it was some weird turn for him on the books to see him on the Quiet Isle. He's very much a "I don't want to do any of this shit unless you make me" guy and that has been consistent throughout the series.
