Holy shit. Another great episode - not a 10 but probably a 9. Everything was on point. I can't believe Sam actually had the best segment of an episode. Tied with Braavos, which continues to be superb.
The High Sparrow coup is every bit the epic pwnage I expected it to be, and Walder Frey's return is cause for celebration.
This really is looking like the best season to date.

I quite liked KL this episode. I knew there wouldn't be a fight since the scene was shot in Girona back in the day, so I didn't have any subverted expectations about that and I thought NCW and Pryce were particularly good. As was Mace in his pimpin' getup. The Jaime-Cersei dynamic being different doesn't bug me in the least. And for those bugged by it, well they're apart now anyhow. Same here, never really cared that they've kept them together on the show - it's not like they're having sex all the time and Jaime being the 'angry' one was useful. We got to see Cersei in her "Queenly repose" reclining in her chair and fully in command of herself again. In fact, I think she wants to get rid of Jaime because she has big plans. Big plans! I thought this episode's KL scenes were the strongest yet - it's getting better, just a slow burn rather than a lot of the epic shockers we've had in other storylines. I think it's going to have a really big ending by finale time.

No way with all LSH foreshadowing I will rate it low but damn these ratings are not encouraging

5/10
and i'm only really giving those 5 points because of arya and bran's scenes least favorite episode of the season. only gave it 1 more point than episode 1 because it had less logical consistencies than episode 1 but episode 1 was actually more entertaining
will elaborate more of my thoughts tomorrow. but this episode was bad imo

9.
Very solid episode. Everything worked very well here.
In particular, the use of music was better here than in any other episode this season.

Finally rewatched. My legal means of watching online through my satellite provider was playing at doublespeed for some idiot reason so they forced my hand to watch illegally. But yeah. Still a 9. Following up 605 is almost impossible which I guess accounts for some of the disappointment I've seen. But I think Jack Bender's second ep. was also very strong. I hope he's back for s7.

Gave it an extremely strong 7. Not the most exciting episode, but it had so much in there and was well done, preparing us for what is yet to come (in several different directions, to INCLUDE Dany finally preparing to cross the Narrow Sea).
The only cons:
Daenerys' speech was fine, but for some reason it always feels cheap and cheesy when there are only a few Dothraki extras standing around, and then of course it zooms out and there are 10k CGI Dothraki. I know they have a budget, I just wish they'd work on making those scenes more authentic, because she is truly amazing at using the language and giving her speeches. Plus, she's HAWT!
Tommen being brainwashed is believable. But Margaery...not so much. If she's not manipulating the Faith, then I'll be irritated...and so will Olenna. I'm hoping she is, and that's how she takes down Cersei when she asks for a Trial by Combat, and then Cleganebowl happens and she has Cersei killed. But that's a lot of IFs and WISHing. We'll see what happens.
A little slow, but at the same time a lot happened, so building up for a few badass episodes. I'm pumped!
The Awesome:
The Benjen question answered.
Sam takes his father's sword and mans up.
Daenerys is officially a dragonrider at this point.
Seeing the Mad King was outstanding! Bran's flashbacks were RoCk'N! Very well done.
Seeing the beginning of the end for Lord Walder Frey (I'm telling you now, LSH IS COMING!) I've got $800 on it in one bet, and another $250 on another bet...that's how strongly I believe in it. I'm going to be both pleased and rolling in the cash pretty soon.
EDIT: Oh yeah! And No One becoming Arya again! Getting ready to duke it out with the House of Black and White, then come back home and wreck some fools in Westeros. Loving it.
Conclusion:
I have a feeling the remainder of the season is going to blow our minds. And I miss Hodor, and I felt pretty bad for Meera pulling Bran around for a bit. While it doesn't have the same quality as the books, or even the same happenings according to the GRRM rumor-mill, this is some amazing television...er, HBO.

Honestly I didn't have a single problem with this episode, so it's a 10 from me. The Positives-Benjen! Benjen at last! -Bran's quick visions really intrigued me - especially the Mad King! -Sam and Gilly at Horn Hill - perfect. Just perfect. My only issue is that we won't see it again, but at least Sam got Heartsbane. Valyrian steel hype! We'll probably see Randyll next season, wherever he may go. -Braavos was excellent. I was expecting another episode where Arya acts in the play before she have up on her mission, but I'm very happy they're moving forward. -Walder Frey! Glad to see the old bastard is back, and Edmure too! Honestly though the mention of the Brotherhood Without Banners rallying the people made me suspect LSH is not their leader -King's Landing. Like many people, I saw the pictures and read the news when they were filming this scene, so I knew what was coming, but that did not for one second stop me from enjoying it. The acting, as usual, was top notch. I think that the scene benefitted a lot with Ramin's music added to it. And honestly, I think this scene was worth the five-week build-up. -Regardless of the way Jaime treated Cersei this episode, he is finally, FINALLY, leaving! -Dany. When I realised this scene was the last of the episode, I thought it would be quite underwhelming, much like 5x02. But, I was pleasantly surprised. Again, I think Ramin's music helped it a great deal, but it was still fantastic to see Dany finally ride Drogon (intentionally). Meereen, prepare to burn! Anyway, this episode may not have been action-packed, but I thought it was still really eventful. In a way it's a setup, but the King's Landing bit in particular is the culmination of five weeks of setup, and I thought it was really well done. Not every episode has to have an unexpected death to be good.

Rewatched it. I'm tempted to give this one a 10 as well, just because there really wasn't anything that I disliked. The KL and Braavos stuff was by far the strongest we've seen this season imo, and Horn Hill was absolutely perfect. Dany's scene was epic as all hell, and I'm super excited about the return of the Tullys and Freys. Finally the Riverlands. We got a glimpse of the Mad King, that was pretty cool. And Benjen is back ... okay. Jaime and Cersei making out ... oh well, I'm not happy about it, but it is what it is and I've made my peace with it. At least Jaime had some really great moments in this episode, and he's finally leaving King's Landing. Yeah, whatever ... 10.

9. Would probably be an 8, if not for Benjen and the Freys.
It wasn't great, but at the moment I can't find weak parts either. I'm bit disappointed with Jaime still being with Cersei, but if we forget that scene, King's Landing was surprisingly good.

This episode was pure HYPE. HYPE!!! I loved every scene with Sam and Gilly. To see Gilly all washed up was amazing and i really admired her standing up to Randyll. My god Randyll was a bastard. What an absolute cunning asshole. Shit that actor was PERFECT. I don't think they could have encapsulated Randyll any better. Heartsbane fark what an awesome sword. And Sams mother and sister were just precious. I wish we could have spent more episodes there I think a similar thing will happen in the books otherwise they would have left Gilly in Horn Hill and also they wouldn't need Heartsbane if it wasn't going to be important. "You'll never wield that sword!", FORESHADOWING. Bran and Meera Can i just say i ALWAYS shipped them but now i do even more it was a really nice heartfelt moment seeing them hold each other. OMFG Mad King flashback (well actually not too surprised ) I think we will see more of that flashback for sure, probably when we see the next part of TOJ. I was surprised we didn't see the rest of TOJ since Bender was seen on set, but i think i was right in my initial guess in the spec thread that he just came along for the ride. HOLY Fuck its BENJEN. WTF happened to his face WALDER FREY omfg he stole the show here, i love that actor. He was spectacular, revolting, ( at his new wife) but spectacular. Holy shit name drop for BWB Arya/ Mercy was just....omfg so hype. It was quite clear that the show has been building up to this moment. Arya cannot fully become no one. She cannot be a servant, she is Arya Stark and will not let go of it. I love how she immediately went for needle. My poor girl, the Waif is out to get her this will probably end okay for Arya though. I really loved her chat with Lady Crane and that whole scene with the actors. KL. Okay i was a little let down, because MACE TYRELL's speech was so fucking hype What a legend. But eurghhh it was kind of predictable. The high sparrow is very intriguing and i know its building up to Cersei going mental on them. But the anticipation is killing me, so much so i'm almost getting bored. almost. I was pretty grossed out by the scene with Jaime and Cersei even though the acting was on point. Jesus fucking christ WTF happened with Jaime not being in the KG anymore? what the absolute shit?!?! Did not see that coming at all. Glad he's getting away from Cersei, but i am not looking forward to a different Jaime because he's probably not going to happen. that makes me sad. And Dany steals the fucking show again with her puree hype speech on the back of massive MASSIVE Drogon. That was cray cray. I wonder if she'll fly to Mereen so that by the time the dothraki get there she wants things ready to go. I'm glad they finally talked about her going to Westeros though. I really enjoyed this episode, a few let downs but still great imo i didn't even miss mereen or the north at all. 8/10

I'm guessing this is some twisted pun on the saying "Everything comes in threes" ... right? (I make funny joke!!) All 'fapping' aside (ahem ) I seriously love your reviews @igrewupinkl you have such joyous abandon in your hype. You and Ozzy Man are definitely kindred spirits and countrymen of the same heart.

Great gifs as always! Especially this one, melted my heart that baby Sam did! I also just had to gif Jaime RIDING UP THE STEPS My mum's recently gotten all equestrian and she was VERY impressed by that. I know there was a riding double on set but we saw NCW's face in that shot so it could well be he actually did that. If so
