I wonder if it'll effect the budget. Maybe, but I would think their budget is nearly set for Season 6 since they begin production in two months. Last year, the ratings went up even after the rape scene in 403, so who knows what will happen. I honestly think it's because this season is the decider of whether people will accept the changes from the books or think the season hasn't been as eventful as Season 4. Though based on what we know, 508 - 510 should be pretty eventful.

Didn't HBO say that they weren't concerned with the ratings for the show's live airing anymore anyways a few months ago? IIRC they said something about now caring more about the numbers they get per week and on HBO Go and HBO Now.

I don't think it will affect the budget and should the ratings go down for the next three episodes, they are not going to go down enough for HBO to be concerned. Again, they will look at how it airs across all platforms, piracy and probably other things that measure how well a show is doing that I don't know about. The show has been renewed for season 6 already with a budget probably in place. Actors contracts have been renewed until season 7 and the producers and HBO will probably be having serious conversations over the next year on how many episodes left at this point. No matter what happens rating wise, HBO will give this show time to end on the note they intend to end it on.

Looking forward to seeing the rating for this one. I wonder if they will be out today or if there will be one day delay due to the holiday?

^ They should have been out by now, so there's probably a delay.

Ouch. I guess we can expect a MD weekend skip again next year First time its dipped below a 6 since 310 "Mhysha". No Season 4 episode was below a 6.31. Very interested to see what 408 brings in.

They did, also said they would release their numbers two weeks after an episode aired , tho they have not yet. At least I have not seen them.

I hope the ratings go up for the last three episodes. I wonder if it'll effect the budget. The "Nielsens" don't have effect on HBO's planning, since those are only the USA ratings , and not even the weekly rating. We don't know how HBO factors in foreign sales or the 'streamed' show or even DVD sales. We only have one data point, last year Time Warner avoided a hostile take over because of HBO's earnings, due in no small part to GoT. Rumor was that GoT was funded at 100 million for season 5 , I figure it is that again. Notice , in Canada at least, GoT is going to show E10 on the big screen, is that IMAX theaters? Don't know what that means, will have to see it it happens in the US.

"I agree, but the show promoters are going to claim it was the holliday that hurt the ratings when WE know it was the episode 6 abomination."

No news about piracy so far this week. Did it break a new record?

No news about piracy so far this week. Did it break a new record? Probably. I imagine fewer people watching TV on memorial day means more bootlegging later in the night.
