Surprised someone else hasn't already started one with the premiere coming in a week!
What do y'all think?
I was on the fence about it. I'm a big TWD fan but not as much as I am GoT of course so I was somewhat ambivalent about a spin-off since for me, most of the reason I love TWD is following the excellent cast of characters who portray the comic book ones. I wasn't sure a different part of the country/story leading up to the apocalypse was going to work for me but now I think I'm going to like it for what it is... much as Dunk & Egg for ASOIAF universe is a great prequel type interest though I'd say D&E is far richer and vibrant but just because it's GRRM's world which I'm obviously biased towards.
This interview with actress Alycia Debnam-Carey piqued my interest again:

(I guess she's playing a teenage girl protagonist?)
I especially liked this comment:

I especially liked this comment:
EW: Not only are you a part of it, but you guys are filling in a really key part of it that fans haven’t seen before. In a way, you guys are informing the backstory for that show, which is cool.
Alycia: Yeah, it’s amazing. And it’s one of the questions you really want to ask and know about when you’re watching the original. That’s what I was always like, “But what happened in the four weeks that he’s been in a coma? How’s this all happened so quickly?” And especially in a really urban environment, too. That’s why I think it’s so great, because this is set in Los Angeles, one of the biggest cities in the whole world, and that’s the way that a government, a society, a community just crumbles and how quickly that happens. I remember when we were going through scripts and I was sort of thinking, “Wow this happens so fast! We’re already at this in episode 3?” That is just kind of the reality of it, strangely enough. Once electricity and petrol and facilities and food stops, society stops. It’s crazy.
