Yeah, D&D would be wise to sit SDCC out, I think. I can't imagine they would be greeted with happy crows of book fans. So Glen and two Sand Snakes are confirmed (ugh, really?) I'm sure the other regulars of Clarke, Turner, Williams, Coster-Waldau, Christie, Dinklage, and Bradley will be there too. I'm excited about Glen, I don't think he was there before

I'm willing to bet most book fans will be very respectful and they'll have hardly any trouble at all. The internet isn't a good sample. I'd be shocked if D&D show up. It would be best if they stayed away, one to avoid any questions they really don't want to answer or are not ready to answer yet (Jon). It comes to mind last year when Craig Ferguson, the panel moderator, shut down a Lady Stoneheart question. Obviously D&D did not want to answer those and Ferguson was told beforehand. I am sure most fans would be respectful...but it is a matter of not appearing to evade many questions and they can always say they are busy prepping for season 6, which really is not lie as filming will either have just started by then or be ready to start.

Why should book fans be respectful, though. They should throw shit at them. Walk of Shame style. Man, I'd pay to see that.

Most people don't spend hours speculating about the show, they watch it, enjoy it, and get on with their week. I imagine the same is true of most book readers, who probably read the books years ago and haven't re-read. I don't think it's stretch to suggest that the most passionate and loudest fans dominate conversation on the internet.

Maybe they wouldn't be outright rude, but they'd ask hard hitting questions for sure, and would probably ask what D&D's logic was for a few things. Though I kind of picture them throwing the question back and turning it into something else ala Lena Dunham.

Iain Glen, Keisha Castle-Hughes, and Jessica Henwick are confirmed for the Tampa Bay Comic Con, not the one in San Francisco. As far as I know, nothing has been announced for SDCC yet.

I think from the Winterfell storyline, it would be cool to see Alfie Allen, Sophie Turner, and Iwan Rheon all show up at SDCC to talk about how they liked working together this season and what the challenges were, etc.

As for the above line of conversation, D and D have been to SDCC every time in the past four years IIRC, flying over from Belfast despite the shoot starting around then, so I'm sure they'll be back this year and I'm also sure they'll be received politely. Internet reaction, however vindictive, comes from a place of anonymity. People won't be dicks to them in person.
