I loved this show last year. It was the only thing that kept me from throwing my TV because of how bad TWD was last season. Anyone else excited for the 2nd season?
I've had the song from the teaser trailer stuck in my head all morning.

I loved the first Season, but I didn't care for the Season 2 trailer and I'm not a fan of Colin or Taylor, so yeah I'm worried.

Very pumped, had the opposite reaction to the trailer than Jack^^ hit me in the right spots, looks very promising  |

^Same. Easily my favorite show last year. Thought the trailer looked great. Excited for a female detective this season too, I think Rachel McAdams will be good.

I am worried about Taylor Kitsch too. I loved the first season of True Detective and I'll be watching the second season.

I think awful is a bit harsh wrt to Kitsch. He was decent in Friday Night Lights. He just hasn't made many great career choices up until now. That said he is the big question mark for me coming into season 2.

omg true detective is insane. season 1 was so gooooodddd
That said this one doesn't seem to have the same vibe. but will watch all the same, if the writing is as good as last season it should be excellent.
We have reasons to doubt the cast- i mean funny guy vince vaugn? but i'm sure they showed something in the audition and thus got the part.
Very exciting.

He was the weakest link in The Normal Heart. Hopefully he doesn't have a lot of screen time and they focus on Farrell, McAdams and Vaughn.

True Detective season 1 was fantastic, I was very impressed. Everything about it just came together so well, the writing, acting, direction. I loved the aerial shots of the swamplands of Louisiana, the show had such a dark and philosophical tone. I accidentally called it a film in that last sentence before correcting myself, but that's how great the production was.
I'm not worried about the cast this year, I'm more worried about the fact that the second season will have multiple directors, one of which is responsible for several Fast and Furious movies, which is bottom of the barrel entertainment. Every episode in the first season had the same director, which is very unusual. I think that helped increase the quality and ambition of the series. I hope the writer/creator can keep the directors focused, and maintain the tone and consistency of the first season.

LOVED Season 1. Ugh. Too good.
I am excited for this season even though I am only looking forward to Rachel McAdams, acting wise. By the little we've seen so far it looks like it has a different feel than the first one, but I'm sure the story will be great.

I didn't like Season 1 much apart from episode 5. There was a point for me after which the series went from intriguing to pretentious. This season looks a lot better, though.
