It is interesting, but not more - so far.
McC´s Cohle set a very high bar; none of the main cast are reaching that one - yet.
And Louisiana is way creepier than SoCal.
Not unpleasant to watch so far, but doesn´t draw me in like S1 did.

Thought it was horrible. Very disappointed with that premiere.

A tad overwritten (as was s1 of course but the accents disguised that somehow or made it seem somehow more convincing that characters would talk so theatrically). I don't remember ep. 101 being particularly strong either, so I don't think it's THAT much weaker than s1 on an episode-by-episode basis, at least so far. Colin Farrell was the standout here, I think. It's a bit of an over-the-top character really but he sold it. And Kelly Reilly was sultry as fuck. Vaughn and McAdams will get more to do in later eps. probably so I won't say I'm disappointed in either of them yet because they'll get their chance to bring it, I'm sure. And Taylor Kitsch didn't stick out like a sore thumb like I thought he would, so I'll forgive him John Carter of Mars and Savages if he keeps that up in the show. So it was good, not great overall. I'll watch this.

We´ll really have to wait. Ep. 1 may have been too sprawling for my taste, and it needs a serious dose of Cohle. Let´s see.

The way he handled his son's bully was an over the top scene but he made it work. I am liking the Rachel Mc Adams character as well, nice add to have David Morse (?) as her hippie guru father. I thought Taylor Kitsch, Vince Vaughn, and Kelly Reilly were fine but their characters need a little more fleshing out for me. I'd rate it a solid debut, not great but I am definitely interested to see where they go with the story.

Just like HBO put their Jefferson as Stannis in GoT, they've put their George Washington as McAdam's character's hippy dippy daddy in TD s2. A good choice, I think.

That was zodiac level creepy in the end. Those masks are weird as hell. Vince Vaugn was much better this episode

The preview for next week has one of the guys saying one of his guys got "shot", so not sure if he's dead. That was a shotgun shot point blank though.

If Rust Cohle can survive his wound at the end of season 1...I am guessing Det. Ray will too. Or hoping. How about Rick Springfield, of General Hospital and Jesse's Girl fame, popping up in this show?

Ah. Ray's alive. 0:39 of this trailer has him in a scene we have yet to see so far.

Wonder how they'll explain this one.
