I think they handled the Marg/Tommen scene very well. Yeah, I had no problems with it all. Kudos to D&D. It was pretty light hearted.

I think they handled the Marg/Tommen scene very well. Agreed. I was pretty apprehensive because we all know HBO loves to go for shock effect wherever they can. Sometimes that works and sometimes it's just CRINGE ... and this would have been one scene they could have made go horribly wrong. They kept it simple enough even if it still leaves a bad taste in your mouth, it's supposed to I think.

I think they handled the Marg/Tommen scene very well. From the reactions of some of the people at that other site who watched the leaks, I was expecting so much worse but nothing was even showing. I thought it was a fine scene and did a good job of showing Marg plotting, which we don't really get to see in the books.

We're not supposed to be comfortable with it, which is why it worked out well.

I thought the Tommen/Marg scene was well-done. The brothel scene though did not need that especially the (ever popular) close-ups. I thought the High Septon's "walk" was a nice bit of foreshadowing.

Haha, that whole exchange between Margaery and Cersei was priceless! I laughed out loud through the whole thing. Haha, meow much, ladies? M: Hello, mother... C: M: Wish we had some wine, bit early for us... C: on and on and on. Loved every second of it. Great episode.

Yeah I enjoyed the episode. Jon is also definitely becoming more badass and I liked the scene with Stannis and Davos. Sansa going to Winterfell is actually more interesting than I thought it would be. Even though she is with the Boltons, I would rather see her interacting with other key players besides Littlefinger. Ramsay telling Littlefinger that he'll never hurt her though. And who ever said that Margaery throws more shade than a ghost-type pokemon was accurate.

Did anyone notice the little glare Olly gave Jon when he called the Wildings the Free Folk? This among with other things has solidified my belief that they're setting him up for FTW.

Along with making him his personal steward, a position of great trust, it does start to lend more credence to the theory ...

I loved the juxtaposition of Margery coyly trying to poison Tommen's mind about Cersei; with Cersei trying to poison Tommen's mind about Margery. Thought the scene with Cersei approaching Margery in the midst of her giggling little clique was well staged, but . . . almost felt sorry for Cersei. Ok, I did feel sorry for Cersei, much to my surprise.
Agree with valerian shadow above that the Stannis nod wasn't noddy enough.
Once again, loved the interaction between Stannis and Jon, loved having Davos chime in on it, too. And loved NOT having Mel in the midst of it.

With the big story square wave about Sansa strange how book story was in this episode. Events at Castle Black didn't deviate much. Almost faithful to the Arya Braavos HoBaW story, good to finally see the Waif. I guess they went for the best actress they could find. Was thinking they might try to find a more than precocious teenage actress maybe they tried. Faye Marsay is nearly 30 years old. Almost too much story in KL don't know how that's gonna go. Nice to have Brienne's back story , pointer as to where it's going, but can't really figure where it's really going. Goshes Volantis was great , I guess that's all we see of it?

One bit I'm not clear about--when Tyrion and Varys were in the brothel and Tyrion was about to go off with that woman, he suddenly stopped and backed out of the deal. I get that he's undergoing some realization of change/growth within himself. But he seemed to be staring at her hand or arm, was he seeing something and I missed it? I don't know, a bracelet that reminded him of Shae or something like that? I found that whole bit confusing, just from the angle of the filming--was he supposed to be looking at something? Or just looking into himself, his thoughts?

Yeah so apparently this episode adapted material from 20 chapters from AFFC and ADWD.

I've watched it a couple of times now to see if something the prostitute did or said made some sort of difference but I think they were just going for overall guilt. I mean the guy *did* just murder his girlfriend/prostitute ... seems logical he'd have a moment of frozen terror amidst his drunken stupor for some guilt and regret to sneak up and surprise him. Tyrion's book journey at this point was all about regret and self loathing.

Odd bit with the Red Priestess , what's the deal with staring at Tyrion? So R'hllor is now in with House Targaryen?
