SNL cleaned house in acting categories. damn Probably my only serious complaint tbh. Well deserved for Kate, nice for Vanessa (since it was her last season, and she's consistently been great. She had a good season) but Leslie Jones? Seriously? Nominated over Donna Lynne Champlin and numerous other worthy contenders? Meh. Otherwise pretty content. Had some personal wishes (Primarily American Gods and Penny Dreadful) but overall i am omay with this nominee list

The only ones I felt truly should've been there were McKinnon and Baldwin.

The only ones I felt truly should've been there were McKinnon and Baldwin. I'm glad Baldwin wasn't in the guest category. I would have been pissed, lol. Dave Chapelle was a pretty good host, i kind of get that. Definitely over-nominated though. I'm so conflicted - do i root for Evan Rachel Wood or Keri Russel? Will happily count Elizabeth Moss out of the running, she's good but gets more praise than she really deserves for her role. Drama series i want The Americans or Westworld to win, butt i think The Crown will win. Also, yaaasss, Martha (Alison Wright) got a nom as guest actress. She's done great work throughout her time on The Americans, nice to see her nominated. Who'd ever have thought a lass from Sunderland would be getting recognition in Hollywood Samira Wiley is a good pick for supporting actress. But so is Thandie. And MBB. Closer inspection shows a few more undeserving nominations but overall i'm not too pissed off so its the best that could be expected

Jessica Lange better win. Her performance in feud is one of the best characters I've seen in like anything ever.
ETA: oh shit Susan is nominated, too. Then I hope it goes to either of them. They were both amazing.

They were both amazing. That category is so strong. Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon were fantastic in BLL (though Nicole was better, imo). Carrie Coon was also excellent in Fargo, so it's really anyone's to win

I would have liked to see at least Ian Mc Shane and Emily Browning nominated for American Gods but hopefully next year. I was surprised to see Milo Ventimiglia nominated in best actor for This Is Us. I thought they'd put him in supporting. Glad to see Ron Cephas Jones nominated in supporting. I still think that category in John Lithgow's to win. This is my wholly inaccurate should win/will win predication list. Basically I didn't watch half of these shows...so I am sure I'm wrong. Best Comedy: Should Win: Atlanta Will win: Veep Best Drama: Should: Westworld Will win: The Crown Drama Actress: Should: Evan Rachel Wood Will: Claire Foy Drama Actor (this one is tough): Should: Sterling K Brown or Anthony Hopkins Will: Slight nod to Anthony because he's Sir Anthony Hopkins Comedy Actor: Should/Will: Donald Glover Comedy Actress: Should/Will: Tracie Ellis Ross Note: Wow Julia Louis Dreyfuss is not nominated! She's won enough though! Limited Series: Should/Will: Feud Limited Series Actor: Should: John Turtturo Will: Robert De Niro Limited Series Actress: Should: Jessica Lange Will: too close to call. Supporting Actor, Drama: Should/Will: John Lithgow Supporting Actress, Drama: Should: Thandie Newton Will: Millie Bobby Brown Supporting Actor, Comedy Should: Titus Burgess Will: Alec Baldwin Supporting Actress, Comedy Should/Will: Kate Mc Kinnon

Ugh, will they ever stop making shows about British royalty? Nope. The Crown is a pretty good show though. There is also Victoria on PBS which is not that good (sorry to any fans of the show on here). I believe Feud is doing a season on Diana/Charles.

Arrival won the Hugo for Best Dramatic Long Form The Expanse episode "Leviathan Wakes" won the same in short form. www.thehugoawards.org/hugo-history/2017-hugo-awards/The Expanse was a a worthy winner, and up against some stiff competition with GoT, Black Mirror and Doctor Who (which is a Hugo favourite). Pleased to see it win, though San Junipero would also have been deserving for me

That's weird. I saw Alexis Bledel won for The Handmaid's Tale as well.
