Haneke generally is among the best of the best directors working. Oh yeah? Funny Games (both versions) is all I've seen by him. I've only seen the US remake, but it was pretty amazing and so fucking intense.

I also heard that it's pretty much shot-for-shot the same movie just with different actors, I don't know if that's true though.

Maybe because it felt more real to me since I wasn't familiar with the cast, as opposed to the American one with Naomi Watts and Tim Roth.

I'm writing a rant about OscarsSoWhite and it's so long But seriously now Smith is boycotting it - he was nominated 2 times and lost to black actors - OH MY GOD THE RACISM, he has a production company and does nothing to help find good roles for people of color when he could easily just cast someone else instead of producing films starring himself. It's just -

10 Best picture nominations I can handle, I hate when they don't use the full 10 slots, but 10 acting nominations seems a bit much. I feel like that wouldn't open up more spots for diversity, but would instead guarantee veterans like Meryl Streep just get nominated for existing.

Seriously even I cannot come up with 10 worthy acting nominees at times Also this won't stop. Imagine there are 10 slots and 2 people of color in those. They will still claim that the Academy is racists because white actors have majority. It's maddening.

Why are male and female acting nominations separate?

Why are male and female acting nominations separate? So Harvey Weinstein can cheat on his wife.

I honestly think they should have best picture at 10 solid and not have it vary every year. However the change to add up to 10 for the best picture was for the hopes of more box office friendly pictures getting nominated and that would help the ratings as well. Except that has not always been the case. As for expanding acting nods...I think maybe going to 6 or 7 might be okay. I just honestly think, if there are not movies out there that are featuring minorities no matter how much you expand the acting categories, doesn't mean they'll get nominated. And until the Oscars address studio campaigning (Hi Harvey Weinstein, Eddie Redmayne, you could fill in a ton of other names here)...I don't see it changing much. I do like that they are considering axing people who have not worked in 10 years or more and people who do not vote frequently. I think that is positive change.

Charlotte Rampling is a fucking moron. What a fool. Racist to whites? LOL! Why are male and female acting nominations separate? Because the majority of nominations would go to men.

Sure what she said was very off and insensitive but again, wishing death upon someone over a comment is seriously gross
