I don't really give a shit about the Oscars, I just wanted to tell the Jennifer Jason Leigh fans to watch The Hudsucker Proxy. It's a comedy by the Coen Bros that seems to fly under everybody's radar for some reason, and Jennifer is hilarious in it.

Will have to get around to it eventually.

My husband said if Leo doesn't get an Oscar this year, next year they should have a "Best Leonardo Dicaprio" Oscar. This is the year.

That reminds me of that Wolf of Wall Street gif where Matthew McConaughey is pounding the Oscar against his chest. (On mobile otherwise I'd share it)

Nope, haven't seen Star Wars either. My schedule makes it really difficult to get to the movies.

If Leo does not win, it will be the biggest-if not one of the biggest-Oscar upsets of all time. Of course, who knows what Eddie Redmayne is doing behind closed doors. Writing thank you notes to the Oscar committee. He's been strangely quiet this Oscar season, other than promoting his movie. The guy at Gold Derby last year was waxing poetic about Eddie was the only nominee he could recall that actually thanked him for believing that Eddie had a shot at winning. And he won. The contest between Leo and Eddie could be Tonya Harding vs. Nancy Kerrigan Part Two.

That would actually be more interesting than the Oscars, to be honest.

I'll have to watch it when I get home. I stand by what I said earlier in the thread there were genuinely good movies and performances by minorities that could have been nominated. The Oscar's are probably more egregious because they are the BIG ONE and it's the second year in a row.

I read somewhere, not sure how true it is, those remarks were planned in advance-he was asked to speak about it a while ago, before the Oscar nods came out. Either way, his comments are very good and always timely.

I just came here to post and at all the people throwing shade at Amour. That was an excellent movie and deserved even more recognition than it already got.
