Was the NW guy who talked up Denys Mallister given a name because as it stands, this guy has had a bigger role on the show than Bowen Marsh. I almost thought that was Barristan. He looked like him and he sounded like him.

Will Barristan tell Dany that Ned Stark argued against having her killed before he dies? I'm assuming no since her I'm going to break the wheel speech hasn't occurred yet.

Mace and Cersei are wearing the same costumes, but they changed portions of their attire out to give it the impression they're separate scenes. They were probably filmed at the same time, but they weren't intended to fit together.
It's clear Bowen Marsh is just a background extra and won't really have the book role. Builder Yarwyck might be involved in the Ides if it plays out in the same way.
As per the Golden Company... They haven't name dropped them yet, and we've seen how much they're playing up the Stonement foreshadowing. The evidence suggests they're cut going forward, unless they jam it into the story quickly. But as we've seen, that's not really their style. Although the existence of a near supernatural form of people would be something they'd need to drive into the watcher's heads so they aren't loss as to what's going on. A sellsword company would be believable - but there is no mention yet. Varys does give Tyrion a downtrodden look when he says "We're going to meet the Savior." It could mean a lot or it could mean nothing at all.
Barristan is quite confusing at the moment. There's no evidence he'll say anything about Ned Stark trying to spare her life, considering she has the Wheel speech at some point in the future. I don't know why he would be spared to have him just be on his deathbed with Daenerys - to say Rhaegar always mentioned the dragon had three heads? I dunno.

I rarely go there anymore but I noticed that WiC.net posted an article today by one of their main writers which is basically a rant about changes from the book and it focuses in on Sansa's story this season.
In the article, the guy rages against the change using it to compare to Sansa's story in the books (which the show has already plowed through in S4 as we know). The worst part is that the entire rant is based on spoilers that the writer has heard about from E3 and E4 but he hasn't actually seen the episodes so he doesn't have most of the info contained in them (like the reasoning LF and Roose give for doing this).
So not only is one of the main fansites for the show blatantly spoiling events in unaired episodes and encouraging its users to discuss them on the site, but the entire argument of the article is based on incomplete information that if known, ends up negating much of the arguments that are contained in it.
I know that FanSided (the site owner) is only about clicks and views and could care less about the content but this seems desperate even in that scenario. That more or less contradicts everything the site stood for under the previous ownership.
Also, the article has been up all day and has garnered 9 comments so far. Nine. A WotW article typically gets 100 easy, many more if it's focused on show speculation or news. Even here, with the small group of users that exist, a new thread will get far more comments in it than that. I can't imagine how their business model is working, their hitcounts have to be bleeding bigtime.

Well the comments aren't indicator of visits, really, I got maybe 7 people commenting on my new recap of episode and these posts usually get 2-3.000 views, which is neat for an independent blog. It's probably about ads for them, so clicks matter, they may have readers but they appear not to be very vocal ones. I think it's really irresponsible and kinda risky to make it clear you watched leaked eps let alone post stuff from them, especially on high profile website like that. All I posted were tweets and I changed my FB cover to a certain Stannis moment from those eps I'm gonna assume WiC either watched the leaked eps or if they didn't and got legit screeners, they won't next year

If the dude wants to rant about show changes, than he should rant about stuff that has happened thus far on screen. There's plenty of stuff that gives cause to flip park benches. And his main argument against is everything from the Bolton's perspective, not Littlefinger's. Sansa is already married, and it will anger "the Crown." Razor, if you want to rip on the show, rip on it because there is no one with a crown at this point. Has anyone else noticed that there is no one running the "country?" It's not Tommen, because he hasn't come of age yet. It's not Cersei, because for some unexplained reason she's not regent anymore. She's the "queen mother." It's not Margaery, because she's a queen consort, not a ruling queen. It's not the High Sparrow, because he hasn't been introduced yet, and he's not even the leader of the faith. It's not the Hand of the King, because there isn't one. So who is running the Seven Kingdoms? No one. Literally, no one is in charge. In a show where everyone vies for the right to rule, they forgot to include anyone with the authority to rule. There is a massive gap in the power structure at the top of the pyramid. It's mind boggling.

Cersei never pulls the regency card on Kevan, and from what Kevan says it sounds like he has some time to learn what it means to rule. If he comes of age through sex around the corner, then it sounds like "should" would be "must," like it was explicitly urgent.
Either way, there is a stupid gap in the legal system that shouldn't exist. I need to see more Tommen scenes to understand what his power is like in 3/4 though.

Well, there's supposed to be a massive power vacuum in KL post-Tywin and people are supposed to be jockeying for the highest position, leaving everything in flux and with many people, including LF, betting that Marge will be able to control Tommen more than Cersei. In ep. 402 Oberyn said that once Joff was wed, Cersei wouldn't be Queen Regent anymore, so I guess that same rule applies here. Technically she's still Queen Regent in eps. 501 and 502 but only for a few more days.
The business about "until he comes of age" is the same as it was with Joff too. Technically Joff was of age in the show but he was too disinterested and incompetent to bother with the Small Council and the minutia and actual legwork of governing, making a regent necessary in the same way that Robert needed a Hand. Marge thinks she'll be able to get Tommen to send Cersei away and presumably take up this position in the Small Council herself.

I've watched the SC scene in 5.02 several times, trying to figure out how its cut. From examining the video, it looks like it originally resembled something like this:
CERSEI: On this occasion, in his capacity as ruler, he's asked me to speak on his behalf. KEVAN: I returned to the capital to pay my respects to my brother, and to you, and to serve the King. I did not return to the capital to serve as your puppet. To watch you stack the Small Council with sycophants. Sending your own brother away so he wouldn't be present to watch you stack the Small Council with sycophants is disgraceful. CERSEI: My brother has left the capital to lead a sensitive diplomatic mission. KEVAN: What mission? CERSEI: That is not your concern as Master of War. KEVAN: I do not recognize your authority to dictate what is and is not my concern. CERSEI: I am the Queen Regent. KEVAN: Tommen is to be wed. Your regency is at its end. You are the Queen Mother. Nothing more. CERSEI: You would abandon your king and his time of need? KEVAN: If he wants to send for me, I'll be waiting for him. At Casterly Rock.

The funny thing about that scene is that Cersei is his liege lord (lady?) now as the head of House Lannister. "I do not recognise your authority", well you should.

I think if Cersei were to return to Casterly Rock as Marge wants her to, she'd then be the Lady of the Rock. As it is though, with Kevan going back there and all, he's probably the acting Lord until Cersei asserts otherwise. Which is a card she has yet to play, as she tells Tommen, "my place is here."

Kevan may not like it but right now Cersei is very powerful she should have told him what was what especially as he said what he said in front of others. She's the authority figure in every area for him as head of the House, head of the Westerlands and the woman who's the boss of the King currently. The show seems to enjoy taking most of the bite away from Cersei though.

At the end of the day, Kevan left King's Landing in a huff and is not going to be involved in the ruling of the kingdom which suits Cersei just fine and is probably the ideal outcome for her at this point. I think she'd allow for him to be a bit unruly on the way out because she would just prefer not having a Small Council at all. Obviously this will change later in the season when she really does need Kevan's help but I think that confrontation played out exactly the way she wanted it to.

SPOILERS...Not sure from which episodes as they are all running together in my head. Probably some from 3 and 4. SPOILERS
Yeah, there is a power gap in King's Landing in the books, and even more so in the show. That is the whole reason Cersei tries to take power for herself by using the power of the Seven. Make a few friends of the faith, and use them for her own schemes. By helping them take power, she thinks they'll be on her side and let her control the kingdom during this "power gap".
What she failed to realize is that if you give absolute power and an army to fanatics who believe in a religion where you are accused of breaking every rule their gods have established...it's probably not going to turn out good for you. I mean, if they flog the High Septon naked through the streets for being in a brothel, what do you think they're going to do to someone accused of sleeping around (with her own family too), and accused of having children of incest with her own brother? She also drinks a ton, and makes a lot of enemies by flexing her family's power? A true "sinner". And her own blood is a part of the Seven, a fanatic, who will pretty much tell everyone of her sins, because he has no problem with admitting his own and spilling the beans. So giving them ultimate power was utterly stupid.
They made us sympathize with her character more in the show, but they definitely didn't make her more intelligent. Tywin was right not to trust her. Tyrion should have killed her instead.

Sorry to break in this KL-discussion with something unrelated, but I thought I could share my Unsullied sister and mother's impressions with the leaks; they watched them all when I wasn't at home for a week, and then told me e.g.: - They: "I [mother & sister] like Stannis now." (Hah, that's my family! ) - They (about Stannis/Shireen): "Aaaaaaaaaawwww! ^_______^ Best daddy since Ned Stark!" - They: "Dany/Meereen is sooo boring.", Me: "Ehm, I actually like those scenes, I like this storyline much, much more on the show than in the books. Show!Daario e.g. is much cooler.", They: "Who's again Daario?", Me: -.- - They: "The scene with Jon and the Feuer Tussi (they always call Mel "Feuer Tussi", quasi "Fire bitch") was so UUUURRRRGH :vomit: " - Sister: "Marg/Tommen is kinda cute :3", Me: "I dunno... I mean, he's 8 in the books", Sister: O__o, Me: "No, no, 8 years old Tommen doesn't sleep with Marg, that's actually a very important point, sigh..." - Mum: "Man, such a great pity that Jon didn't accept Stannis' offer and became Lord of Winterfell " (She was really, really disappointed in that) - They: "Why isn't there more Theon?" (Hah, that's my family! ) - They: "Arya's story is just so super strange and weird, I [mother & sister] don't know what to expect there..." - They also thought the Sansa-in-Winterfell-storyline could make kinda-somehow-sense, then I discussed it with them and hopefully made some good points; now they agree it's rather stupid (and makes the least sense for LF, especially that LF leaves Sansa now), but are very interested in it nevertheless. - I don't think they are much interested in Dorne (I haven't ask them about it), but I know how much they both love Jaime, so connecting him to this storyline will at least make them care about it, I guess. - They both always loved Sam, but do it even more with every new season/episode. - The best: Mum didn't remember Jaqen, but Lancel and Kevan, lol. ETA: Sister found it super funny when Jorah captured Tyrion.

Oh, and another statement by my sister: "I know Ramsay's the simply worst human being ever, but I really hope he doesn't die soon", Me: "RESA! ...the fuck...?!?!" Sister: "Well, he's Iwan Rheon after all..." (My sister adores Iwan since she saw him in "Misfits" and "Vicious", two favourite TV shows of her -and mine-, and one simply has to love Iwan Rheon as Simon resp. Ash - I at least do, too)
