Here's a great topic that may or may not tie in to Dany's future in Westeros: House Valaryon. I've taken their banner as my personal pledged house on the ASOIF reddit group and someone wrote this fantastic indepth article about them: offmichaelsbookshelf.wordpress.com/2015/06/23/high-tide-the-rise-and-fall-of-house-velaryon/House Valaryon was once a very prestigious and wealthy Valyrian family from the same line as the Targaryens (though lesser as they were not dragonlords) who came to Westeros and established sea-trading there even before the Targaryen dynasty took over. They had a very impressive fleet and their castle is on the larger island (Driftmark) near Dragonstone. Most of us (myself before I actually educated myself on the house) only know of the house through the infamous Valaryon bastard Aurane Waters who last we heard in the books stole an entire fleet of ships commissioned by Cersei (another of her brilliantly stupid plans) and has now set himself up as a pirate king in the Stepstones between Westeros and Essos. To me this was a HUGE clue that GRRM may write the bastard Valaryon into Dany's next chapters as House Valaryon intermixed (marriages/alliances) with the Targaryens for hundreds of years and would be staunch supporters of her cause and reclaiming Westeros. If Aurane Waters took those ships to Essos (choose whatever port would be best) - he could taxi Dany and her armies across to Dorne, or, more appropriately Dragonstone. His House Island is just next door and their fleet could drop anchor there very easily since both Dragonstone and Driftmark have been huge ship ports for hundreds of years. What do you all think of this theory? Aurane Waters stealing all the ships is one of my favourite things ever. I'll read the blog post now. Agreed. Stupid Cersei.

Aurane Waters is a boss. Perhaps the pirate casting call will be for Aurane? The Greyjoy fans would be furious

Too bad that Mace is Master of Ships atm. I would love to see Cersei go "WHERE ARE MY SHIPS???" Dany style.

I re-read the casting description and it doesn't really sound like the physical description of Aurane Waters though as much as I think it would be awesome if he were cast too! Cersei remarked that he looked like Rhaegar Targaryen to her (she just wanted in his pants I think). And @envie btw it's House Velaryon. I knew that! I think I typed that at 3am or something. I was tired! Too bad that Mace is Master of Ships atm. I would love to see Cersei go "WHERE ARE MY SHIPS???" Dany style. Mace hasn't proven real competent - maybe that's how the ships get stolen in the first place from his bungling mismanagement? Cersei losing an entire fleet of ships and then Dany showing up on them would be freaking hilarious.

I am 100% sure Dany dies before the end and 89% sure that Jon won't take the Throne. fAegon also propably dies. So, who becomes king after fAegon and Dany die? Tormunds member. Its thrice as long as Mances. In all honesty, maybe Gendry? Or they might have a grand council...

Aurane Waters is the biggest asshole in ASOIAF. Discuss... Disagree. That title went to Ramsay Snow long ago. Even Joffrey lost the title when he died. Anyone who can single-handedly steal an entire fleet of brand new ships right out from under the King's and Lannister's noses is a pretty cool pirate asshole in my book! EDIT: By the way - coming into a fairly well thought out thread of discussion about Daenerys to simply make an opinionated insult against a character without any supporting dialogue is somewhat rude. Feel free to start your own Aurane Waters hate post if you want elsewhere.

I think we can all agree that Aurane Waters is history's greatest monster. Not much debate to be had really.

Once again, let me repeat - feel free to start a debate about it somewhere else if you're not even going to bother making an intelligent response to back up your opinion. It's just trolling at this point. We're supposed to be above that in this group unless you just came over from asoif forums again?

Stannis is out in my opinion. Show-wise it could be Mace loosing the ships, but this is a different situation book vs show. Cersei trusts Aurane in the books (mostly due to her affection) and doesn't suspect he could abandon her. In the show the Lannister-Tyrell conflict is more distinctive, so Cersei sends Mace away to lessen the power of the Tyrells (although Mace isn't much of a threat). So an option in show is that Mace looses the ships to Euron, who tries to side with Daenerys (maybe Mace dies in this). This would stir up things between the Lannisters and the Tyrells even more and tie the storylines of the Greyjoys and Dany.

In show Euron has to be against Dany. Yeah, I forgot to add that I think he will try to side with her, but in fact he wants to overthrow her; he's partly Victarion.

I was wondering this and if not, it may not be he has anything to do with Daenerys and like you said - helps fAegon who isn't in the show so that entire arc is gone. Euron could be a replacement for Aurane Waters, I agree.

Honestly I doubt it. Euron uniting parts of Victarion's and Aurane's story is more likely.

That would be an even greater fuck you to the fans than "mothers mercy" and the "an older gentleman" plot synopsis combined. i doubt theyll cast Aurane at this point. Theyve long since lost the chance for his exposition to the story. Bringing him in now wouldnt make any sense. Cerseis focus is gonna be on getting revenge on the faith, not building ships.

I love Aurane Waters I remember reading AFFC and coming up with a hardcore conspiracy theory about how he was actually a Targaryen bastard instead of a Valeryon bastard, until I read ADWD and fAegon appeared and then I found out about R+L=J. Both kind of shot my pet theory to bits

I cant wait to see peoples reactions when they see Euron and laugh that he's just another Ironborn and he'll probably run away, only to have him do something sick, like force people to eat each other... If Euron is in, fingers crossed they dont screw him up.
