Well, at least this has all confirmed that this will be the TWOW cover after all.

I've been reluctant to post in this thread, and I just figured out why. It's because I'm really not sure he's ever going to publish that book. Okay, he probably will, a rushed version, and then an announcement that the series now has an eighth book. I don't hate the guy, but somewhere along the way he crushed my hope. Ahem

This year. Call me optimist. I can see it being published at the end of the year. By his own admission he's close to finishing. But maybe I'm being too naive. Nonetheless, I'm so happy we have the series. Im not sure how motivated I'll be to finish reading the book series once the TV series is done. It might be nice seeing the complete story but it won't be priority.

I forget what my prediction originally was...but I say the earliest by Christmas 2016, latest spring 2017.
And, stating the obvious, he's not finishing the series before the show wraps up. At his rate of writing...might not see DoS until 2022/2023 and that's if it ever comes out.

TWoW will be published eventually. I'd be really bummed if it wasn't out by the time the show ends. ADoS is the one we may never see, though I like to think that we will.

By the time ADOS comes out, Roosie will be a proud grandfather.

He kept saying he thought he could finish Winds in time, but he also said he never thought the show would pass him up even though he still has at least one more giant book to go after Winds. So I think it's likely he thought he could get the winds done by the end of this year just because the man has a poor grasp of the concept of time.

He's just slow, and IMO probably tries too much to do the book perfect.

He's just slow, and IMO probably tries too much to do the book perfect. Yes, maybe he has a lot of pages written but with all the revising and writing chapters out of order, that's not almost done. Almost done would include having it all thought out and just needing to write the words. With all these delays and indefinite messages, he's probably finding things to tinker with and getting stuck after each burst of progress. Finishing a series that keeps getting more complicated would be a lot harder than starting it and perfectionism is pointless if he's lost the original streak of inspiration that allowed him to write the first three books so much faster than Feast/Dance and Winds.
