The shots of wildfire have yet to appear in the series. The Mad King never actually blew anything up. So I think we are seeing the future there.... #MADQUEENHYPE As long as she doesn't burn my faves

I agree it's a much bigger deal to US ... we're book fanatics. The general show audience loves Daenerys and Jon Snow who have both been played up as the main heroes the past two seasons so that's likely why they chose Dany's Drogo speech for the final scene. I loved it but agree it probably wasn't necessary since her Khalasar already worships her after her fire-walker trick. Still ... I ain't complaining at getting to see massive Drogon - that was amazing. He's Balerion the Black Dread Reborn!! My circle of friends largely consists of show-only fans and all of them have theorized about Benjen over and over again. Believe me, it's also the bigger deal for them, especially because it was something new, instead of badass Dany moment Vol. 45. They just needed to make the reveal more effective than it was. Well I think you should just enjoy it for what it was and that it was so well done. It was very impactful and amazing and most of us were in complete shock so I am not sure why you didn't like it how it was done and Daenerys is going to be going to Westeros soon so they are show-casing that big time. It's just the best choice for the show's emphasis. Benjen's return was still my favorite scene and you know I'm a huuuge Daenerys fan!

Benjen as ghost rider was a pretty cool way to open. On that we can all agree. And if you don't, you're dead to me. JK

Oh come on guys that Dany ending was fantastic and I'm not even a big fan of hers. The dragon riding looked pretty fantastic here. It was significant because she's taking that big thing to Westeros and (*ahem* burn them all) she's going to be burning a lot of dead things. I know we all know this but it complemented the wight-burning and Bran-premonition stuff pretty well I think. Plus those Dothraki are coming to Westeros. Hide your kids, hide your smallfolk. LOL... loved that one. Daenerys is going to have a mighty hard time convincing her Dothraki not to rape and pillage. But then again, the fucking Westerosi assholes rape and pillage anyways (thanks Gregor Clegane you monster). But she also has a giant fire breathing dragon to control them. What did you think about what Daarion said to her?

I wouldn't disobey her after what I've ( they've) seen.

So Dany is actually gonna do something now?
Also, I can just feel the LSHYPE. Magic is in the air.

I only said that I would have preferred a different ending to the episode, because this one felt a bit underwhelming to me due to the repetitiveness. I'm not saying it was bad, I'm only pointing out how I would have liked it even better.

It was funny though, that Benjen says to Bran that he needs to be ready for when the WW come and Dany appears in the next scene. I think she might be part of Bran being ready. That's an absolute given. She's crucial in defeating the WW. She just needs to get there. Oh, I know, I was being all tongue in cheek.

My favourite thing about this episode was the return of the Freys and the Tullys. Finally we'll get some version of the Riverlands story arc. And they even mentioned the Brotherhood without Banners. R'hllor ... please. Horn Hill was great, they did such an amazing job with the casting, seriously ... Randyll Tarly is perfect. I hated him before he even opened his mouth. And please give me more Dickon ... kthx I loved Dany's scene, and holy shit, Drogon has gotten huge, but I wish they hadn't ended this episode with yet another epic Dany moment. It's getting a bit repetitive. LOVED everything King's Landing. King Tommen, the Beloved and the Blessed. I'm only moderately excited about Benjen's return. The scene where he reveals himself did very little for me, to be honest. They're bringing everyone back, Jon, Gregor, even Benjen. Everyone, except the one character that matters the most to me. It's hard not to get frustrated by that. Anyway ...

But since it's been so far removed from literally everything else, I've always struggled to get into it. I don't really see Mereen playing much of a part in the end game

Benjen is now Bad Ass zombie Warrior/White Walker. Only Bran can stop the Night's King. That formula works better than cutting away across the world. Mirror opening with ending. Bam.

What did you think about what Daarion said to her? The part about her being a conqueror and not a ruler? Eh, I dunno ... Daario says a lot of things. But in a way it's true, she's best when she's defeating opposition rather than politics. But that's why she'll have a lot of help/support from team North (we hope) in the future. I would love to see Davos advising her alongside Tyrion haha.
