I just made the mistake of reading some IMDb reviews "Tommen made a dumb decision!" Yeah, he's a kid. He would do that "What's the point of Arya leaving and not being a badass assassin!?" Because she's not a faceless assassin, she is Arya. "What was the point of Horn Hill if Gilly's coming along anyway!?"Well I sure wouldn't want to leave anyone I care about with Randyll Tarly. And they all gave the episode a 1. As if it's the worst thing they've ever seen. I may be biased and really enjoyed this episode, but surely this is just stupid, right? Millions of dollars spent on elaborate sets, props, film crews, costumes, actors and one cute baby ... all for one thing: HEARTSBANE bitches!

Nothing in the books is ever said about Dickon being mean. Or show. He is a young squire in the books. I didn't think he was douche-y at all. He was pretty nice, and when Randyll started yelling I thought he looked sad for Sam.

I'd love to know how that fireball-on-a-chain works I have to admit I didn't really like that thing at first. It reminded me those incense thingys Catholic priest's use.

Nope, nothing about a gate. He says they'll be waiting when he finds his way to the world of men. It's interesting that Benjen is draining the blood from the rabbit into a container. Is he a vampire now? Is that why he didn't come back to the Watch? Oh, and have we been discussing Benjen's epic weapons anywhere that I've missed? Oh, and I guess now is as good a time as any to gloat about the fact that I was right about Bran replacing Bloodraven as the new Three Eyed Raven. Dan and Dave talk a bit (in the inside-the-episode video) about how The Three Eyed Raven is not even a real human in many ways and that would explain the "I've been waiting a thousand years" remark for sure. The 'power' is passed from one individual to the next as a legacy. I would think as long as he's been around, the Night King would know that too though and that killing him would just pass it on to Bran. Maybe he thinks Bran is an easier target to get to being crippled and with only Meera now to protect him. He's definitely not counting on Benjen's help though so that's something. As for Benjen and the rabbit's blood he gave to Bran, I really took that to mean he was just trying to give some quick energy back to Bran because of how weak Bran is from all the visions draining him. As disgusting as it seems, blood has very high nutrients while it's still warm straight out of whatever living creature it's drained from. I don't think there's any vampirism involved there. My suspicion about why Benjen didn't come back to the watch is because he's now half undead himself and thus the magic wards inside the wall would stop him from entering just the same as Coldhands explained. Since they are a merged character - it seems the most logical explanation for why he's stayed north of the wall all this time. I somehow missed that he fed the blood to Bran. That makes sense. This is what happens when you try to spend a lot of time on a fan forum while simultaneously working full time, keeping up relationships and an exercise program, and having some semblance of a life. You just half-ass everything.

I love Isaac's acting in this episode. When he wakes up from that trance and says to Meera "They've found us". He says it in this impersonal, "whatever happens, happens" kind of way which makes sense given that he's just seen the history of the universe play out inside his head.
It's bittersweet that in the same episode Arya finds herself, Bran begins to lose his Starkness bit by bit. But in his case, it will actually serve a purpose.

I thought he looked so exhausted and sad. Just simply saying "they've found us" knowing he just lost Hodor, Summer, and Bloodraven. I like how both Isaac and Ellie played that scene. Also does Benjen have super strength now? He picked Bran up with one arm and threw him over his horse like it was nothing.

I hope we get some clarification on exactly what he is or what happened, but I have a feeling we won't and they're just going to leave it ambiguous and mysterious. Shoving dragonglass into his heart as Bran guessed right on should have made him into a White Walker, right? Do Starks have some special magical blood that makes them more resistant to CotF magic and if so does that mean they're also resistant to the White Walkers? Is that why the Night King had that look of almost recognition with Jon Snow at Hardhome?

I think NK was just impressed because Jon managed to kill one of his men. But anyway, the WW magic was already at works with Benjen, so the CotF shoving the dragonglass into his chest stopped the magic. I think it's more likely that the WW tried to turn Benjen into one of them, rather than into a regular wight.

They've had access to tens of thousands of them and yet they only raise them as undead which are more vulnerable than White Walkers. So I think there's more to it than just touching them on the face like the baby-turning we saw way back when. Maybe they can only do that to Craster's babies because he willingly "Sacrifices" them? The Night King very obviously wasn't a willing sacrifice though since as a man he was tied up and struggling. Not that Craster's sons had any choice in the matter either.

I'd say becoming an immortal ice demon is better than becoming a wildling living in a freezing forest, anyway
