HBO Viewer's Guide still refuses to confirm how Greatjon died. Damn it. He's been literally written off the show, I don't think they'll ever explain it, just like Daario's face change.

It's really not such a stretch to assume he died in some battle or other somewhere along the line. Unless one considers Cogman tweets from three years ago to be canon, in which case this is the most minute of minute retcons. But shit changes and he hasn't been in since s1 so

Or that he had a heart attack or got pissed and killed by a boar or most anything, really. I think it was supposed to put to rest the question of whether he would come back. Of course, this fandom never puts anything to rest.

I don't think Gendry will ever come back, unless he gets legitimized and becomes Lord Baratheon in the end, most likely taking over the role of Edric Storm from the books.

They could have had Smalljon throw his head on the table next to Shaggydog's and there would be people claiming it was too small to be a Greatjon head, or that his beard was a different length so it must be an imposter, or that he had a secret twin brother called the Bigjon.

I wouldn't give a rat's arse about the Greatjon were it not for Clive Mantle, that crazy bastard.

Random thoughts: Loved Dany and the Dosh Khaleen scene, Emilia is doing so good this season and I like the Dothraki storyline way more than I thought I would. Dean C. Chapman has really upped his acting game too. The I am the king was nearly exactly like Joffrey said it and yet you believe he is totally not like Joffrey, but a naive boy. The episode had two great camera tilts. One during the ToJ fight to show Bran and the Three Eyed Raven. And one during the dothraki march to Vaes Dothrak. (Also a great visual parallel to the introduction of Braavos with the Titan.) And lastly I really liked how they made Gilly speak some sort of more educated English, because she learned how to read. Like saying vomiting instead of throwing for example?

Get used to everyone from everywhere else being better educated in languages.
