A quibble: I thought the interaction between the twins felt a little weak tonight. I'm not sure if it was the writing or if they've just gone through too much grief to have a fresh approach to it anymore. It might seem better on a second viewing when I'm less amped and can better appreciate subtleties. My quibble is that Cersei's recounting of the time after her mother died didn't sound like a 4yo's thoughts. What kid that young knows the stages of decomp? Good point. I wonder when the Reynes of Castamere were murdered. She did get to see their heads decaying.

I swear someone was watching Tyrion and Varys while they were walking, but I can't figure out who. There was definitely someone looking at them from behind that broken lattice thing. That moment also annoyed me. Why the fuck did they not have guards? I still think Daario is the harpy.

Cersei only used the story to "frighten" Margaery.

I also liked the Wall, Davod, Edd and the guys watching out for Jon. I do wonder though why are they guarding his body, wouldn't the Nights Watch also want to burn Jon? The best part of the Wall was Mel, seeing her so defeated and lost, it gives her a nice dimension. My take on it was that they initially moved Jon into Davos' room because they didn't just want to leave it lying around. Disrespectful. Then their thoughts turned to what happens next between themselves and Jon's killers. It didn't seem that they were protecting Jon's body, so much as stuck in the room with jon's body while figuring out what to do next. The scenes around Jon's body were similar to scenes around Renly's body or Tywin's body. The people who liked Jon want to see his body treated with respect, and they're unhappy that he's dead, but their plans revolved around the living.
Other thoughts: i thought the burning of the Mereenese fleet was interesting. What the show giveth, the show taketh away. Does that imply that at one point the show was going to skip Euron, but then he was written back in? I was surprised that Brienne and Sansa reunited. Brienne almost never gets anything that she wants. And Theon seemed to have a little swagger back after the sword fight. Those 4 seem so hopeful, I'm scared. i liked that the show kept up the bit of Dany not understanding the Dothraki half as well as she thinks she does. She played her cards well refusing to talk until she was in front of the Khal. And it wasn't insane that she thought the Dothraki would know about the dragons - she is famous and the dragons are a huge deal. Also, surely the Dothraki have come across charred ram skeletons. But Dany had forgotten about the khaleesi retirement plan. Good point, that makes more sense.

I am very uncomfortable with all of the questions Daario keeps asking him. I'm expecting him to try to kill him any time now. And yes, I'm counting on Jorah to defeat him.

Cersei was born in 266AC according to Westeros.org too. Though, she said it was a long summer. EDIT: just checked AWOIAF, late 261 AC was the Reyne rebellion and subsequent slaughter.

So as a book reader I don't remember anything about Mel's age, tho it all makes sense. I mean we are off-book in that part of the story now, but can't remember if GRRM set it up? It makes (more) sense that Mel would know the bigger game of a war with the Others. I don't remember any reveal about her age in the books myself. If he did set it up, I missed it or forgot it. I'll be curious as to how this reveal plays out on the show.

Thornes scene in castle Black's hall was pretty good. I don't think all of the watch is convinced though. I think when Tormund comes with wildlings next episode some NW men might end up betraying the traitor NW men. Most likely. Edd needs to have some men when the WW breach the Wall. Yeah. Weren't there only 50 left? Subtract no telling how many since then ... Edd going to have to retreat.

Now I think Moro won't die in 6x04, but instead survive to see S7 as Dany's main dothraki commander.

There were about 30 in main hall when Thorne announced his treason. Them + the six men with Davos. So Castle Black has only around 40 men, the other castles have around 100 both, I think.

I can't remember the specifics right now but there was some setup in the books regarding Mel being much older than she appeared because we have been discussing her age ever since DoD came out. I think it's when she thinks about her glamour.

I can't understand how Mel can be 200+ years old, but still thinks Thoros shouldn't be able to resurrect people.

Guys, just a suggestion: maybe we should move the non-spoilery episode discussion to the other thread, so that the few of us who are trying to avoid spoilers can partake in the discussion as well. A lot of the posts here don't contain spoilers for the upcoming episodes and it's kinda disappointing to see that the other thread is not moving along at all.

I'm not sure if I'm more shocked about Mel or Dorne. I kind of saw Mel coming, although I thought she would save Jon first. You guys still think she's alive and will save him? Did she die and therefore forfeit her life for his? Did she just die and not have a further role to play?
