You don't have to write same thing twice, I read it. I just don't agree that it is the case with Ramsay. He is just not consistently written. And Joffrey wasn't given any attempts to give him 'he is not that bad' moments other than him being sad by his "father's" dying bed, which felt natural. Ramsay's Myranda angst feels forced and bizarre. I don't think they are trying to make Ramsay look sympathetic to anyone, maybe just trying to make him actually human and less cartoonish. I don't think his relationship with Myranda is out of character. He was not a caring boyfriend who brings flowers and the like, which would be completely out of character indeed, but he's possessive and aggressive. Myranda was just his plaything, although she was smart enough to know what he likes and push his buttons. Her conversation with Sansa in the bathtub reinforces that idea, establishing that Ramsay has had several "girlfriends" who he used until he got bored and got rid of them, and she seems to know that she has to play his game to survive. Myranda scene with Sansa is OK but I find her scene with Ramsay to be a total waste of time. Why make Ramsay more "human"? Who cares about this? What does it add? If the writers wanna cut a bunch of stuff that's OK but I will call them out on including something this pointless.

The fact that Ramsay completely lacks empathy and gets that much enjoyment out of torture and murder suggests that he is a (clinical) psychopath, tho. True, sane people do some evil shit sometimes, but they normally feel bad about it during it or afterwards. Real psychopaths don't, and Ramsay has never shown anything close to remorse. I don't think he is capable of what "normal" people would call love. He wants the approval of Roose only to satisfy his own ego, imo. And he sees Reek as his toy, he cares for him as someone would care for a valuable object, not another human being. At least that's my opinion. For what it's worth, I do think Ramsay in the show is a much more interesting and multi layered character than his book counterpart. Despite of all I said, I don't disagree with you. This "love" for Roose and Reek I talked about might be just what you said, something to satisfy his own ego. Still, I think that lack of empathy isn't enough to make someone enjoy torturing people so much. Ihere has to be a very strong emotional drive to it.

These days people prefer multi layered villains who are not evil just for the sake of evil with no reason whatsoever. Villains have to be interesting, right? I'm not a big fan of Myranda either, but I appreciate any effort to make Ramsay more interesting.

Well for me it didn't work, I didn't find Ramsay cartoonish before but now that he weeps for his special lady I do Thank God for Roose being there. I hope he sticks around long into s6.

I'm sure I missed a few there and Al can edit some shit in if i did and if he cares to. But there you have it. Max von Sydow , Joseph Naufahu, Pilou Asbæk and Ania Bukstein previewd in trailers or stills , but not a single image of Ian McShane and James Faulkner (I know there are others like Izembaro's troupe, others).. not a whiff , so far, since they are not in E1? Patrick Malahide , got a still of him, is one of the most 'invisible-visible' actors on the show (anyone ever get an interview with him?*). Shots of what's going on in the Iron Islands are so micro-second short nothing seems decipherable except that Euron is there, it's even more truncated than stuff at Meereen. *Found this: www.whatsontv.co.uk/tv-news/news/patrick-malahide-im-more-recognised-for-game-of-thrones-than-minder-unless-i-m-in-a-taxi

Patrick Malahide's from my town too? That's like half the damn cast of this show. Minder's pretty old now and people most remember it for Dennis Waterman and his terrible theme tunes.
You seem to get quite preoccupied with actors getting spotted outside of the show. Some prefer to stay out of the spotlight, especially a lot of the older actors. Plus he's mostly just worked in a set, and for only a few scenes, so it's hardly surprising that you won't have seen him spotted during filming. As will be true with many other actors.

Almost surprised that Stephen J. Dillane even gave an interview, but he has, a few. Malahide seems sort of the same type. Interesting , seemed Conleth Hill , in a different way, avoided interviews, until S4, he did red carpet S4 and S5, he was at the Emmys for S5, he was seen on the town during S6 production, but no red carpet and not much I can think of since the 1st of the year.

This "love" for Roose and Reek I talked about might be just what you said, something to satisfy his own ego. Still, I think that lack of empathy isn't enough to make someone enjoy torturing people so much. Ihere has to be a very strong emotional drive to it. Ramsay's biggest weakness has always been (book and show both) his intense desire to be legitimate and important in the eyes of his Father. Roose knocked him down off that horse by announcing the imminent arrival of a son with Walda but then immediately followed that up with encouraging Ramsay to fight with him against Stannis. He's manipulating Ramsay and Ramsay falls for it hook line and sinker. Ramsay is blind to all else. Losing Sansa, Reek and Myranda will be the closest thing Ramsay has to feeling remorse - briefly. And then that remorse will turn to rage because that's how his brain works. How many times over and over did we see him be 'kind' to Theon ... merciful ("I forgive you!") and then turn around and punish him in some psychologically twisted way (ie. forcing him to apologize to Sansa at the awkward dinner)... everything is a game to him and people are his toys, his possessions, nothing more. Sitting there looking sad over Myranda's body is not the real emotional pivot point for Ramsay. Think more like Ramsay. Instead of "omg I'm so sad my gf is dead" ... think " They did this ... they ruined everything and now they're missing and I'm fucked, Father is never going to keep me around after this ..." The only person Ramsay truly feels sorry for is himself. He's thinking in that moment how he's been wronged and much as book Ramsay wrote the pink letter, show Ramsay is about to have a tantrum.

I've banished myself from the leaks/spoilers thread for the rest of the day ... so here I am sitting in the Pre-episode discussion thread all by my lonesome! I'm the spoiler addict who only sticks her toe in the water and then when she finds out too much goes running off crying like a little girl. *edit: enjoying all the nice episode 1 gifs @konradsmith posted though. Pretty!

*edit: enjoying all the nice episode 1 gifs @konradsmith posted though. Pretty! Though it turns out I was wrong about a bunch of them. But I'm not going to bother to edit it to be more accurate now with less than six hours till the episode.

I like 'teasers' and a little spoilage (filming photos etc) but I don't want any outright leaks this late in the day last minute before I'm set to enjoy the premiere. FIVE HOURS TO GO Nezzer! Are you looking forward to seeing how Ramsay handles the loss of his Reek, Bride and GF?!

Samesies. Was going to ask if there was anyone else who hadn't spoiled the whole episode yet, good to know.
I really fucking hope we don't get leaks for any more episodes, unless that's already happened and I just don't know about it.

I already have some thoughts written down in draft for my 6x01 review which I said I won't do but I'm so weak and pathetic mattpeto I think it's gonna be the worst premiere yet but hopefully Brienne and ending scene make it at least enough for me not to trash it, I have responsibility to my readers some of which didn't even watch season 5 and just know what happens from my recaps

If I see Stoneheart not in unexpected scene as I watch the episode and via some screenshot from 4chan I'm gonna off myself
