Yay! We're so close now... By the way, we should discuss the spoilers from the premiere here or in the Spoilers/Leaks thread? I expect a lot of spoilers, both legit and fake, will pop up next Monday.

You can probably keep it in the Spoilers/Leaks thread because there's quite a few people that don't want the premiere spoiled completely for them even though they have read Archie's Road to Season 6 thread.

My first proper post outside of the introduction thread.
I'm really pumped that we'll find out more about Mel. The only person who calls her the Red Woman is Davos. Both show and book Mel is the person who fascinates and confuses me the most. Her thoughts, actions and supposed motives don't add up.
Someone on WotW noted that in the programme synopsis Jon is called Jon Snow. They never call him that in the synopsis. They always just refer to him as Jon. Hmmmmmmm.

Love the Mel related title. Mel and Davos interacting is probably the thing I look most forward to. I guess I missed that Margaery is going to be in the premiere though. And Arya is in a first episode again.

I never thought I'd say that I look forward to what is probably a Melisandre episode, but I do look forward to it. And I agree, I want to see her and Davos interactions this year.

Yeah, I've never been too terribly invested in team Dragonstone, but with Stannis gone now I'm interested to see where Mel and Davos' stories go.

Suggestion box: We should probably really title this thread Episode 1 PRE Episode Discussion maybe? Still over two weeks to go and by that time this one's going to be 50 pages long! I think it would be fun to have pre discussion "Predictions" type threads up to the night of the show and then start post episode discussion threads once the episode has aired. That way they don't get too long and people who miss an episode won't get spoiled if they want to read prediction pre-episode talks? Especially since the opening post has all the spoiler stuff in it.

Well my prediction for the title is that this is a very Davos centered premiere (which rocks) because he's been featured in SO many interviews lately complete with Wun Wun and that awesome extended cut of the big Castle Black showdown scene.
While the title is about Melisandre - as someone else pointed out, Davos was the only one who ever called her "The Red Woman" that I recall so it's actually more about some sort of confrontation and (resolution) between the two of them for the premiere is my guess. Melisandre's shocking reveal about her past and her powers, Davos confronting her and NOT killing her and whatever power exchange is happening tied in with Night's Watch post Jon fallout. Those things will likely take up most of the scene time while I suspect the other bits and pieces we know about from the OP and all of the amazing detective work done during filming will all be smaller scenes that simply remind us where everyone is located starting up again and what's happening immediately after last season's finale cliff-hangers.
1. Jon Snow Cliffhanger - will have the most screentime with NW / Davos / Melisandre / Ghost etc. etc.
2. Myrcella Cliffhanger - Jaime bringing her body back / Cersei on the water's edge waiting for the boat - very short.
3. Sansa/Theon Cliffhanger - running through the woods / chased by Bolton men and dogs - probably Brienne showing up.
4. Arya Cliffhanger - very short - just shots of her as Blind Beth and not much more I would imagine.
5. Daenerys Cliffhanger - semi short scene with her as a captive and being taken to see the Khal where he delivers "queen of nothing" speech.
These are really all that I think will be shown with such a short premiere episode along with some quick snippet of Varys and Tyrion in Meereen as already predicted. I predict they are going to keep all of those relatively short - setting up the stage for resolution of everyone's season 5 finale cliffhangers. These are to show how low everyone has sunk at this point in order to start building the stories back up again.

Yeah I'll watch it on Monday, but I'm not sure if I'll manage to watch week by week. I mean I love American Crime Story and somehow I have 7 episodes to catch up on. I adore Archer and I have like a whole season worth to watch and a new one is airing already I have became terrible in watching the shows I watch every week. I'll definitely watch the season but not sure how long it will take me

I think we'll get a one short scene at Winterfell, where Roose chastises Ramsay for attacking Stannis, and letting Sansa & Theon escape. Ramsay is angry and storms off for a hunt. After that we'll have Sansa and Theon running through the woods.

Oh right there has to be some sort of scene where Ramsay discovers his bride and his Reek have vanished and of course little Myranda splattered on the ground .... oh my I'd forgotten about that particularly nasty bit Ramsay has to see, haha. Do you think all of that's going to play out in episode 1? SO much stuff needs covered to get all those cliffhangers rolling again!

It could happen like this: Ramsay rides proudly back into Winterfell after his victory against Stannis, but he discovers that Sansa and Theon have escaped and Myranda is dead. Roose tells Ramsay that his actions could cost them their hold on the North, but Ramsay feels he doesn't deserve this treatment. Roose then tells him, “A peaceful land, a quiet people. That has always been my rule. Make it yours.” Ramsay becomes frustrated and storms off for the hunt. Then we see Sansa and Theon running through the Wolfswood being chased by Bolton officers and Ramsay's hounds.

That could all be done in a 5 minute scene between Roose/Ramsay easily.

Just imagine it with Michael McElhatton's voice... I think McElhatton has referenced the line in interviews before, but it would makes sense in this case. Roose wants to keep Winterfell without waking up and resurrecting all of the Northern Lords loyal to the Starks, but considering that Sansa and Theon escaped and even when Ramsay threatens Jon with some version of the Pink Letter later on, Roose's dream of "a peaceful land, a quiet people" vanishes.
