I saw people comparing Kick Ass to Deadpool....why are these being compared? I want to see Deadpool but Kick Ass is 1. the worst movie I've seen 2. reprehensible piece of shit Reprehensible? The Japanese treatment of Koreans during WWII was reprehensible, Kick Ass is just a movie. Beating up a girl for laugh is REPREHENSIBLE. I will fight you on this.

It's a work of fiction that doesn't actually hurt anybody, your description is over-the-top.

Fiction in movie world has a responsibility and when it is played fort laughed it is just awful That scene wasn't played for laughs, it was horrible and served as an example of the dangers of being a vigilante. Bad things happen to little girls every day. Kick Ass didn't hurt Chloe Moretz, it employed her. Reprehensible is a powerful word, unless you misuse it, movies are capable of being reprehensible, but a good example would be Cannibal Holocaust, where they killed multiple animals on camera. That movie made me sick because they slaughtered living creatures for entertainment.

Deadpool was absolutely fantastic. The humour was spot on, Ryan Reynolds has never been better IMO, the depiction of female characters was refreshingly well done and there are some moments in this movie that had me crying with laughter. I love how this movie had some extremely outrageous jokes but without being sexist, racist or homophobic, which is so rare. If anything it made fun of these stereotypes. Also, it's so awesome to see a heterosexual male character so fucking comfortable with his own sexuality. He's written in a way that he doesn't give a flying fuck about what others think and if he's being perceived as heterosexual or manly. Anyway, the action was great as well and I loved every single little reference they made in the dialogue. Seriously guys, go see this movie.

I can't with The Revenant.
Good: - the writing for Hardy's character which was the only decent thing about the script - they made him insane for legit reasons and even him leaving Glass behind was not done because he is evil, but because he was afraid. And really the moment DiCaprio was mauled me and my friend were really questioning why the fuck they didn't just mercy kill him right there and then - Hardy, Gleeson and Poulter's performances - certain moments in the soundtrack - the bear scene - the final fight scene which was brutal and exciting as fuck - Hardy's scene where he talks about getting scalped - Hardy's lines - those were hysterical. Within first 5 minutes on the screen he must have dropped at least 20 F words - the cinematography, kind of
Bad: - those ridiculous 'look! we can show breath on lenses' moments. Those just took my out of the movie even more than the fits of laughter we both had with yet another scene of DiCaprio crawling like this was the extreme version of TWoWS stairs scene - The writing for DiCaprio's character. Why do I care if he lost his family when instead of giving us some normal scenes with him talking to his loved ones we got - tree, field, slow mo, staring, tree, field, slow mo, staring, Indian ghosts! - the editing was terrible. The scenes went on forever, the shots of trees were probably 20 minutes on their own and the cuts at the beginning of the film and in the several other places were jarring - really?? DiCaprio who was so good in Revolutionary Road, The Departed, TWowS is gonna get his Oscar for lying down alt/ crawling and moaning? Though at least he is not stealing anyone's Oscar this year...it's not his fault but the way his character was written was so bad, they just expect you to sit there and watch this guy for 3h and root for him because bad shit happened to him, that is just lazy writing - the pace was so bad. The film started going once Glass is discovered by the captain and I think that was at 2h-mark

It's still way better than the snoozefest Assassination of Jesse James.

It's still way better than the snoozefest Assassination of Jesse James. Couldn't disagree more, Revenant was solid though.

Saw Deadpool and really enjoyed it. Given how long and hard Ryan Reynolds worked to bring this movie to life, I am glad this one is well received by the audience and doing blockbuster money at the box office.

I liked Deadpool quite a bit, but they needed to tone it down with breaking the fourth wall. We get it Deadpool, you're different.

So apparently in the original Deadpool script... There was supposed to be a ton of gunplay in the final act but they didn't want to rewrite the script again, so they got around it by just having Deadpool forget his guns in the taxi. Then they could keep the whole preparation sequence with Weasel and Blind Al and not have to take out that whole chunk of the movie. Amazing.

I won't even post this in the Harry Potter thread, because this video explains so well why the third movie is a fantastic movie in its own right.
