I can't believe I'm doing this to myself, but I'm gonna watch this for the first time now.

I watched the first two episodes and it was not nearly as bad as people made it out to be. I actually quite liked it.

I'm still really pissed they killed off Chris . I was surprised that they did that, however, towards the end of the season-when I reflected on it-it seemed like they were going down that path. Some people think Cliff Curtis (Travis) might wind up in jeopardy because he got a role in the Avatar movies.

Travis NOOOOOO I read a recap before watching the actual episode... I am sad to see Cliff Curtis gone from the show. But given Travis, who seemed to quite not get it about the world they were now living in, it was fitting for him to go out this soon. Ballsy move because you think Travis is untouchable, this story is about he and Madison and now he's gone. Plus Cliff Curtis signed up for the Avatar sequels and I think those film in New Zealand and it seemed like the writing was on the wall for him once that was announced.

It now seems they killed Chris for no reason. I believe I said they killed Chris off to get Travis to the mental state they needed him to be at, and he falls out of a plane one hour into the new season. Pretty stupid, granted they couldn't have known. I assume they were going to have Travis do what Madison is doing now? (Trying to take over the farm) Having lost Chris, he'd want to ensure Maddie, Alicia and Nick were safe. It is just a waste. Chris had so much potential, a redemption arc from the darkness would have been good. I always viewed Madison as the main character, and thought Travis would eventually die (I thought his death would be the season finale of season 3, not the beginning). Hopefully the new farmer ('SoCal Herschel' I see him referred to on Reddit) will be a permanent character, he seems good.
I hope they outright made the Clarks villains now Madison has lost Travis. (Again, Chris would have helped here - after Chris and Madi lose Travis, they put aside their differences to survive by any means).

I felt like Travis would have more of an arc after Chris's death. It makes me wonder if they killed Travis off so Curtis could do Avatar. Because if killing Travis off was in the works for a long time, then keep Chris alive...have him deal with his father's death.

I don't watch Talking Dead, so I don't know if they elaborated on it there. Would have been interesting to see if Madison would have refused to keep Chris safe after Travis died, after the whole drama in season 2. I do think they killed him off to do Avatar, but even still they could have kept it to the mid-season finale or something.

I think the TD is on demand,so I will have to check it out to see if they discuss the decision to off Cliff Curtis. And you are right, there would have been pay off to Madison/Chris drama in season 2 if they kept him alive and just killed off Travis. I do think Travis's death would have been better for a mid-season finale or season finale.

I read the other day Gimple has signed as an Executive Producer for season 4. RIP this show. A friend of mine told me the same thing. I don't think that's a good movie at all. TWD has gone downhill on his watch and this show needs more help, not someone to sink it. I finally watched the whole premiere. I thought Episode 1 was more tight then episode 2. Travis' death was sad, he's deffo a goner though. Even though the husband kept joking about zombie Travis. It will be interesting to see how his death plays out for the rest of the season.

Beautiful scene between Daniel and Efrain in episode 4 about forgiveness. Yes. And at the end with the woman whose name I forget. Daniel playing the long con. Wow. I did not realize how much of a break I needed from Madison, Nick and Alicia until I watched this episode. I am glad they brought Reuben Blades back.

A bit of a boring episode this week. I'm glad that guy at the end saw Troy threaten Madison. I'm hoping she takes over that group, I got the vibe that that's why she was there - to slowly turn the guys against Troy and assume leadership.
I'm wondering when Ofelia is going to come back (I think I read she IS coming back), I wonder if Strand will actually run into her now? That would be funny.

I think that is her plan is to take over that group once she is done mindf-ing Troy. Ofelia has to be coming back at some point and you make a good point, I bet it's Strand who runs into her before Daniel does. I feel like the ranch is a long con between Otto and Madison...Madison is working over Troy and Otto (is that Dayton Callies' character's name???) is working over Nick. Of course, Otto can bond with Nick over being a recovered addict (even though their addictions are different) level.

Oh shit, 2 hour finale next week. The battle is finally coming, and I'm so glad it's 2 hours because they'll really be able to flesh it out. I wonder if Madison will kill Troy during the battle and mask it as the Indians killing him? I really like Jeremiah but I'm worried he will die; though it would be interesting as there'd be a battle for leadership after the break.
