Man, I'm glad he cancelled the two conventions to open up his writing schedule. I'm sure he's not doing anything else these days.

The man spoke ill of haggis. Fuck his books. I wonder how you feel about America banning haggis nearly 50 years ago... Americans are dumb.

He is busy warming up for his weekly NFL write-ups. Should be 30,000 words right there. I hope that Puppy affair blows over by then; I don´t want those write-ups stained by that crap.

Unfortunately I was being very sarcastic, I trust you were as well. I don't know guys. It seems like he's on the road more than he's home (only place he writes). He's too distracted and writes volumes of pages on his blog about Puppygate, past conventions, etc. I don't think he's rushing to get these last two books out.

George's life is a fishbowl perspective from fans at this stage in his fame. Because everyone uses his Not A Blog as some sort of measuring stick of his work vs. travel/play schedule - he's catching flak more than he used to. But it's true, he's also busier than he used to be which is obvious if you compare his travel itinerary nowadays to 10 years back. I just keep reminding myself he took a really long time between AFFC and ADWD and that was before the show and all this new fame from the mass media started. Maybe that just makes it worse and seem like he'll take even longer but the perspective for me is that he has always taken a long time to write the next volume.

I can pretty much guarantee you that when it comes to George and his NAB, I´m way beyond sarcastic.

As the Maester himself confessed when he pitched aSoIaF over 20 years ago: He likes to start ´em up. Getting his shit together to wrap ´em up ? Not his thing. That´s what we have been seeing this last decade, so don´t get your hopes up. Don´t shoot the messenger !

Haha considering it was originally supposed to just be a trilogy (I'm glad it's not!) - yeah, I'd say completionist is not one of his strong points. He really has expanded the world a little bit more each book and they just get larger and larger. It's a pickle he's gotten himself into and we love him for it. The world is vibrant, real and expansive. Epic. These things cannot be rushed.

After one week of travel-related silence, another wall of text re HUGO/Puppy butthurt. grrm.livejournal.com/439207.htmlAnd he promises more. Re NAB entries, this is Full Metal Comfort Zone. At least, no surprises here.
