I think we could use a thread for discussion over various Not A Blog entries that really aren't worth a thread of their own! I'll start! GRRM posted yesterday that he's off to Staten Island and rambled about a baseball team who have temporarily rebranded themselves with Stark colours. He ended the post with: Even though I know it's a joke, reading stuff like that from him of all people makes me shit myself  Please don't hurt anymore of my wolves!  On the plus side, the fact that he even made that joke at all makes me think that maybe he doesn't plan on doing it, so Sansa, Arya, Bran and Rickon are ALL SAFE YAY  (hopefully). He also said he's going to visit his publishers while he's there. I know approx. nothing about publishing so I'm just going to assume it's nothing, but hopefully he has some nice news for them. |

In the books... yes, Stannis is still alive.
So are Irri, Jhiqui, Mago, Pyp, Grenn, Shireen, Myrcella, Ser Barristan, Hizdahr zo Loraq, and probably some others whose names I am forgetting at this moment.

I actually do think the Stannis spoiler is kind of revealing - even though he is featured in a chapter in TWOW, the timeline from ADWD and TWOW are so confusing.

I think Stannis will win at Winterfell. I think he will later die in another battle. The show clearly cut his northern liberation arc for a reason. IMO its so that it doesnt interfere in the LF stuff next series. |

I can't handle any more Stark deaths, he needs to go kill off someone else's family members. Seriously. Enough with torturing the Starks. I really would be happy if the rest of the books passed with nothing more happening to our surviving Starks. He can go kill some more Lannisters, Greyjoys, Boltons or anyone else from any other family (besides Davos) and it wouldn't bother me. But enough with torturing the Starks. |

I can't handle any more Stark deaths, he needs to go kill off someone else's family members. At least they still have multiple members left, and are almost guaranteed a restoration. My favorite house (Targaryen) is down to only one true known member, a hidden bastard who may or may not be legitimate, and a guy who's a tree. *Assuming Aegon is a fake. |

We have the technology!" Mecha-Stannis is coming. I told a friend and he said he hopes Gwendoline Christie says "Im looking for a droid" in the new Star Wars movie. And less than two months until the NFL-season starts. I love that he allows fans a small glimpse into his private life almost to annoy them with his trivial thoughts and whims. So many people seem to think this man should be spending 18 hours of his day shackled to that ancient device he writes the books on and do nothing else whatsoever. Those people need the shame bell.  |

As one of those fans who waited that long winter between those two, I can wholeheartedly sympathize but being a turd in comments on his blog or elsewhere for him to read about your impatience is not bitterness, it's being an a-hole. |
