GRRM has a life you know. He doesn't have to write TWoW 24/7.George's not your bitch. He's HBO's. I'm really twisted inside regarding this opinion (in italics). He does have a life and in some ways he doesn't "owe us anything", especially in our timing. But still, he created this story that has captivated millions. Instead of winding down his series to give us a conclusion, he further expanded it (AFFC/ADWD, TWOIAF and the show). Even though he's humble and in my opinion, extremely likable, he's distracted by his fame and it seems like everything else in the world. As fans, we have every right of being frustrated. True. I am still hopeful that TWoW will be on my bookshelf by Christmas 2016 at it's latest.

But...I worry about GRRM motivation if S6 spoils half of TWOW and the biggest secret of his universe (R+L=J).

Almost every bookreader thinks it's true, plus all the ones who've at least heard of it. IMO the biggest secret is Others motivation, even if there are so many theories about it that at least one has to be true.

It's indeed the worst kept secret, but the fact that isn't have been revealed and that GRRM said, "You will know everything about the ToJ after I'm done with the story" makes me think we still need to learn more from it.

Maybe that's where Daario turned into Euron who turned into Benjen who turned into Coldhands who also somehow is Strong-Belwas? (There IS a theory about Coldhands being Belwas...)

I have a theory about how they are all Linda writing Fanfics about the series Oh sorry. I mean, official MUSH I will ask GRRM in his blog about this: "Dear George, is Elio's and Lindaario's MUSH project a fanfiction?" You should. It *is* a fan fiction! Anything that's roleplay or story driven written within the universe of another writer or creator's world is fan fiction unless officially endorsed by the company or author of said universe. It's like that trash 50 shades of crap. Started out as writings from a Twilight universe fan fiction - which speaks volumes for why it's trash. a MUSH is completely made-up invented stories and roleplay enactments within ASOIAF universe. Linda is a hypocrite. As for being frustrated at George - yes, fans can be. Many of us are going on 2 decades of being fans now so like in the book, an entire generation has grown up (my older son) in our own long winter! However, people need to keep their shit in check when posting on George's blog. If the man goes on trips and vacations that's his own damn business and right to do and no one should be questioning when and how he writes. I do agree all the fame has distracted him somewhat but honestly, there was an even longer wait between AFFC and ADWD and there was no show and all this mass media fallout distracting him then so it's actually not really a valid argument.

Does MUSH even stand for something? Why not just call it "role playing?" (Which is fanfic, sorry Linda)

Does MUSH even stand for something? Why not just call it "role playing?" (Which is fanfic, sorry Linda) In multiplayer online games, a MUSH (a backronymed pun on MUD most often expanded as Multi-User Shared Hallucination, though Multi-User Shared Hack, Habitat, and Holodeck are also observed) is a text-based online social medium to which multiple users are connected at the same time. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MUSHA MUD is a "Multi-User Dungeon" ... they are all text-based roleplay things. Basically, to break it down in simple modern terms, they are just a chat room format where people enact stories roleplaying as a character they have either created or taken the role of for that fictional storyline. They're an oldschool online offshoot of Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying from before the days of online gaming with actual graphics. So based entirely on the definition - the ASOIAF MUSH or MUD or whatever they want to call it *is* fan fiction.

I clicked their about page and was still like "wtf is MUSH supposed to mean!?" I didn't think of actually searching elsewhere.

GRRM has a life you know. He doesn't have to write TWoW 24/7. George's not your bitch. He's HBO's. Yep, the good, ole Gaiman argument. Actually, he is my bitch. But considering that I only invested...what ? maybe 50-60 bucks into aSoIaF over the last 20 years, that *my-bitch*ness may be worth only a very blurry photocopy of Martin´s right nipple...which goes for thousands and thousands of other readers, too. HBO and Harper Collins, on the other hand. To be honest, I don´t even give that much of a shit. The first 3 volumes entertained me darn well, 4 & 5 not at all, so under line, I have blown 50-60 buck on way, way worse. Besides that, let Martin enjoy his money - he opened a lot of doors & opportunities for other genre writers. My issue is mostly with the bullshit surrounding all of this, especially those hardcore fans that find ever new ways of practicing their delusional Martin-enablement, finding ever more nutjobby excuses for George´s struggle to progress with *Son of Kong*. I love to take the piss out of those people. Below are two links: One from reddit that discusses Martin´s sales pitch to the publisher 22 (!) years ago; the second is a screencap of that pitch. In that pitch, you will find one statement by Martin that explains the entire predicament from Day One: Only problem being: You want to wrap the cycle up properly, you better know exactly where it is going. https://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/3a591n/spoilers_all_martins_pitch_to_harper_collins_1993/ winteriscoming.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Martin-pitch-1.jpg

While I certainly would like the book sooner than later, it is nice to see that GRRM has finally begun writing TWOW.

If TWoW gets released next year, I'll be joyful and wait for ADoS. But if no signs of it's release date even in late 2017, I give up.

Yeah the Others, GRRM set that all up in the first novel and now the show has put the Others into to story in a more 'up front' way than George has , so far. Not sure what Sauron's motivation was in LoTR, mean if he had won Middle Earth would just be a torn up landscape of dottering Orcs? In a way ASoIaF has been so bitter , so far, and seems it could get worse in Winds, Dream is going to have to be saccharine sweet!
