I'm surprised Stannis got such a shit death scene. What was that angle??? Is he even dead? If he is that was the worst.
Also surprised the Battle of Ice was ruined because of budget.
And Myrcella what?

Stannis went from being in a massive position to strike at Winterfell to punching himself in the face ever since he left Castle Black. It was the damn strangest thing...

I was shocked that Stannis lost the battle. I didn't know the Boltons had so many men! Brienne's sudden appearance was convenient, but at least Stannis wasn't flayed alive. He might even be alive, who knows. Still, the biggest shock was Myrcella being poisoned. I must be stupid, because I didn't think for a single second that Ellaria was poisoning her with her kiss. I felt sorry for Jaime more than any other character this episode

My biggest shock was how shitty Stannis life ended but show Stannis deserved it.

Biggest Shock: Aftermath of Stannis and Myrcella's poisoning. Biggest Surprise: Daario is good at negotiating and talks back to Tyrion. I really liked the scene as a whole.

I was so wrapped up in the tender Father/Daughter moment that I was really caught off guard when Myrcella's nose started bleeding. [So what do we think? Will Bronn just happen to have an extra vial of antidote?] My next biggest shock was seeing Varys in Meereen.

Love those two together. Smart snark and smart snark putting things in order, for the realm. Yep, works for me.

The biggest shock to me was how terribly they handled the Winterfell battle, and Stannis' death. Also Myrcella saying she's proud that Jaime's her dad? Where the fuck did that come from? I thought Robert's kids genuinely loved him.

I'm going to put out a theory that the "Battle of Winterfell" in the books isn't going to amount to much of anything either. I've never gotten that impression and I always wonder why it's been built up to the degree it has by the readers.

I agree King Tommen. I mean, there's not even a POV that could realistically show the battle.
As for it being terrible, I really don't think there was any need to show the actual fighting. Stannis was a dead man, he knew he was a dead man when he marched there. Why show a battle that's a foregone conclusion.

Well hes not Trystane thats for sure. With Varys in Meereen, that definitely seems like that storyline is done. Really disappointing. No Dance of the Dragons 2.0 in the show. They really want to just end the show ASAP. This is terrible. Clearly they are tired and this showrunning all year is taking so much out of them, its time they are relieved of their duty. Just like the Trueblood Showrunner lefter and gave it to a new guy so should Dave and Dan. They are spent, and the shows quality is dropping over them justing wanting to see their sons and wives and everything.

The Dance of Dragons 2.0 is one of the most blatant examples of wheel spinning I've ever seen, I'm glad they won't go down that route.

Giving True Blood as an example of a show that switched showrunners is pretty hilarious given the absolute garbage that show devolved into after Ball left.

Seeing this being compared to True Blood is the biggest shock for me.

Biggest shock: Myrcella being poisoned! I knew she wasn't long for this world but I always figured Tommen would go first so that was definitely a surprise and how utterly horrifying for Jaime - he's now watched two of his three children die right in front of him in a terrible way. All three of their kids really were victims of circumstance even though Joffrey completely deserved it - Tommen and Myrcella don't.
I actually wasn't shocked by how they killed off Stannis. I was like others, more disappointed than anything. I was certain, when it was so obvious that the battle was lost, he would go out fighting on his feet which would have been better IMO. I guess they wanted the opportunity for Brienne to have her moment of vengeance but it felt lame and off rather than satisfying because they have left Brienne on the sidelines for too long to make us feel empathy with her now.

I never saw the show, its just there is precedent for this. They need to go. We can get 5 seasons if they leave. HBO wants 10 seasons. They want 7. Kick their asses out. They are exhausted anyways, look at the crap they are making.

You can thank the lords that they have gotten us through the drudgery of AFFC/ADWD in only 1 season and into the (hopefully) good stuff that gets us to the end of this story. More wheel spinning would be death. Get Dany the fuck out of Meereen, get the White Walkers here, kill the Freys, get the Lannister siblings to kill each other and see who's left. I'm tired of this BS world building garbage.
