Guys, calm down.
Of course Kit had to confirm the death. That makes people talk about the show, so that even more people watch it next season.
Besides, Jon being dead doesn't cofirm shit. It crosses out the warg option, but we saw freaking Melisandre coming back to the Wall earlier this episode. He might as well be "really dead", but he can still come back...
... and slice that little shit Olly like a fucking apple.

When Arya was killing Meryn Trant, my jaw just dropped. I think that was almost more graphic than Oberyn's death.

Hmmmm. I'm not sure how I feel about this episode. I wasn't expecting somethings and expecting others but clearly not ready for them. I thought Stannis would kill Ramsey and win over Winterfell. I was very wrong. I also have a strange feeling Stannis is not dead and if he is, he'll come back as the undead (ugh). But of course, he just might be dead for good, too. Hate that Brienne missed the candle but ultimately she made a choice and it backfired. Like the books. I have a feeling she'll find Sansa next season. I see why Sophie said the ending was ambiguous but, hey, no one thinks she's dead. Nice try and trolling though. I loved Varys and Tyrion but could do without the bros in Mereen. Curious why they've put Dany in a weak, dangerous position with the Dothraki rather than a position of strength with her dragon. I guess it's so they have some drama next season.
I thought the Arya stuff was going to be more angsty and sexual. I'm glad it wasn't. I loved the ending but I definitely thought they were skipping the blind part. Weird pacing unless D&D really wanted tons of cliff hangers this season. The Walk was emotionally wrought, just like the books. Well done. I'm sure Tumblr is already up in arms about the misogyny since the High Septon wasn't shown frontal. And Mel just deserting and heading for the Wall. Why? That really feels out of character. I guess she's in place to save Jon and I hate the thought of that. I wonder why they didn't have him warg at the end especially since D&D already said they would have him warging next season. I'm really worried the unsullied might say enough is enough at the thought of Jon dead. Lot's of action but so many cliff hangers and they don't usually have so many. I think that was more for the sullied but that is really risky when they're biggest audience is unsullied and likely to be frustrated by this ending.

Arya killing Meryn Trant was absolutely batshit crazy and I mean that in the most positive sense. I LOVED it. I actually loved the whole Arya arc this season. Her best arc since season 1 for sure.

So just read an interview with Kit... and he says that D&D told him that Jon is dead and Kit won't be back so uh yeah Geez, this really isn't smart to spread around. They should leave it ambiguous, like the books. I'm really worried about how this will affect viewership! And no, he's not dead. Several slips about that already. Makes me think Stannis may be around still, too.

I've always thought that Jon was dead in the books and would be brought back by Mel. I'm not surprised by the ending at all, i.e. Having Jon die. I think they decided not to do the Warg thing (this season) just to make the episode more depressing. Although, I have no doubt Jon will Warg Ghost. If I have to guess I'd say we'll see the world through Ghost eyes before seeing Jon "alive" back in his reborn body.
Also, agree with Punce in wondering why the put Dany in such a vulnerable position. Of course it was to amp up the drama.

Having Jon die would defeat the object of R+L, Melisandre and Hardhome all teasing his greatness.

My mood when Lady Stoneheart didn't appear, @fireandblood You know it could still happen. Was thinking the Greyjoys were gone, but seemingly in season 6. Thought David Bradley hinted he would be back ? That presents and interesting situation.

Btw the kiss from Ellaria was 100% confirmation she'll poison Myrcella.
But man, all these cliffhangers. Mother of cliffhangers.

It will take 5 seconds next season for Drogon to swoop down from that cliff bluff, stand there perched on his wings, for the entire dynamic to do a 180.

So now I think I'm beginning to understand what the LSH camp has been going through. I'm reading the posts that say, No, Jon's not dead, of course they just had to say that and feeling so hopeful, but underneath there's a sharp, icy fear that maybe he's dead, after all. But then, why IS Melisandre back at the Wall? I hate her SO much, but (here's my deal with the devil), if she'll only bring Jon back . . ..

I got the feeling that a sandsnake would poison Tommen, which still might happen. The show likes to move things around while ticking the box. I think Myrcella's wound is all she'll get in the books. For now!

For once, Sophie wasn't exaggerating. Her ending was really ambiguous.
