I think no matter which scene came first there was going to be insane mood whiplash, but I don't know how they could avoid it. If the Shireen scene came last than Daznak's would have been forgotten about entirely I think. This. There's no natural segway from that scene. And as harsh as it was to transition from that into Daznak's, I'm glad they didn't end the episode on Shireen's sacrifice, because that would have been awful. People need something to cheer for after that. No, don't get me wrong - I'm definitely glad they chose Dany's flight as the episode ending - it was as grand an ending as it should have been and by no means would I have wanted Shireen burning to be the ending that would have been ten times more depressing. My complaint is merely one of emotions being too raw right after seeing that scene and listening to poor Shireen screaming then cut to the cheering of Daznak's ... it was literally jolting. |

Oh, I agree...it's definitely jolting. Especially when you find yourself laughing only a few minutes later. But that's the nature of the beast, I guess. |
