I wonder how long it'll be until we see the WW's/Wights again? I think we are going to see much more of them next season. Oh fuck I hate to use my phone to post.

Hopefully this doesn't bring the mood down, but I just want to thank Admin again for giving us a place to be. I just ventured over to the smoldering ruins and saw this: "What I dsliked about the episode is that people liked it. I want the show to fail, damnit". I will never return there.

By the way, did anybody else notice that Ramsay totally title drops A Feast for Crows? Thought that was kinda cool.

They were SO terrifying! Also - 5 year Walking Dead fan here and I can assure you NO walkers have ever moved like the undead on Game of Thrones - holy shit they were so fast and powerful. If that doesn't let the audience know just how terrible this invasion can get, I don't know what will. Suddenly nothing else matters - who the fuck cares who sits on the Iron throne, right?! I think we'll see them again in the finale maybe - not next episode though - that's going to be the aftermath of this episode.

^I don't think we'll see them again until s6 tbh. The rest of Jon's arc I imagine will be sending Sam away and then dealing with Thorne, Olly and the other NW reactionaries and then getting shanked by them (probably after Mel returns or Rams sends his letter or whatevs).
More about the wights, I love how they integrated the skeletal ones with the only slightly-decayed ones and fresh ones. There was so much zombie-variety.

I personally don't think we'll see them again until the Wall comes down, which I definitely see happening. Maybe the Season 6 finale.

Yeah you may be right - there's a ton left to cover in the last two episodes. Maybe I'm hoping for a quick epilogue look at the Night's King heading from Hardhome to the wall - just as a teaser or something. He was just so awesome I want to see more! I went pretty nuts when he turned Craster's baby too, but this time we got to see him in all his glory.

As someone else pointed out - the argument that 'too much undead stuff' isn't realistic just got pretty much destroyed. Anything goes now!

HBO's Inside the Episode if anyone missed it! In which Benioff 100 percent confirms that the horn-headed fellah is the NK. Which is good to hear because there were some people denying that he really was.

I almost appended my post with that special note but figured someone else would catch it and we could have good discussion about it. That anyone denied he's the Night's King was kind of silly anyways but now we know for certain that's his title and it's pretty damn exciting to think of what that means for Jon Snow. Surely the NK recognized who Jon Snow was, both as Lord Commander of the Night's Watch and as a Stark of Winterfell! The look of interest on his face was pretty obvious.

I mean, in the books, the Night's King is nothing more than a legend, and the show has now pretty much not only confirmed that he's very much alive and well, but also that he's the leader of The Others and maybe even the "big bad" of this entire thing. I think this might be the first huge aspect of the story spoiled by the TV series, although I personally don't mind, because I kinda love spoilers.

OMG I have not watched yet. I am at working waiting desperately to go home and watch. 5 hours more to go I don't think I will cope with this wait for 5.09. I will need to watch it in the morning before I go to work.

Of all the things in the Hardhome sequence, the wights literally pouring of the cliffs was insane. It was like those scary spider nests. And the music in the resurrection scene and the omitting of any sounds but the waves afterwards, and then the slowling emerging sounds of different bells in the end credits. Goosebumps all over.

HBO's Inside the Episode if anyone missed it! One notes that Benioff mentions that Jon's V-steel stops the WW captain's crystal sword. I have vague recollection that is directly from the book. That V-Steel can shatter zom-ice is not but it may well be so in GRRM's details , none of which are known. I think besides the known Valyrain steel the books imply that there could or would be dragon steel swords in old Valyria not destroyed in the doom. Maybe a few unnamed ones in Essos hidden away. Of the seven with unknown fates , not sure about the show, but I have the hunch Blackfyre and Dark Sister may turn up. Arya getting Dark Sister sure seems a possibility. Remember she has mentioned it in season 2. O yeah the Maesters have a small amount (I guess it's small?) Valyrian steel for making V-steel links. I guess they could be deadly too, tho scrabbling at a giant WW with your bare hands and a VS fragment seems folly.
