I posted it more for Carice reasons but I knew you'd enjoy too, so there it is.
Is it too pervish of me btw to have wished for a 507 production still of Sansa in the dress she had on when she talked to Reek...I mean I know in the context of the scene it wasn't meant to be attractive per se...but well...I'll stop.
Yeah that's pretty gross, all things considered. I meant for the Sophie-ness of it all, not the context btw.
But yeah, maybe I ought to dial it back a bit...

I actually thought she looked very pretty, except for the bruises

BTW I just saw on ASOIAF reddit a poster observed that Ghost may well have saved Sam and Gilly because all the way back in s1, he was present intimidating Rast when Jon said, "No one touches, Sam." They remarked that since Ghost was basically a puppy back then he internalized this "protect Sam" order and acted on it in this episode. He's a well-trained pooch!
Also, has anyone made a gifset paralleled the shot of Cersei walking away smirking to herself after talking to Marge in her cell with the shot of her walking away from Marge and her handmaidens back in ep. 503? Because if not, that would be a good idea for one, I think. Those two moments were definitely meant to parallel one another.

I think the show has created a relationship between Sam and Ghost that goes back for a while. Even Gilly is included in that bond if you go back to when the NW first go to Craster's and Ghost is giving Gilly the once-over and it's Sam that comes over to tell him not to bother her. Ghost also saves Sam from a wight at the Fist and Sam's the one who sets him free last season during the Battle of Castle Black. They're better buds than Jon and Ghost are.

As for Ghost I liked him being included but would Jon really leave him behind? I'd be cool if we got 'I'm leaving Ghost here to protect you' line but we didn't.

I don't remember if he intended to bring Ghost along with him on the Hardhome ranging in ADWD but I guess a simple excuse would be that it's best not to have a massive dog on their boats. I know my dog doesn't do too well on rowboats and canoes, so I imagine a massive dog would endanger them of tipping over all the more.
In general Ghost is probably the most independent direwolf though. He spends the most time away from his master in both the books and the show. I think he'd be cool to remain at CB. If Alliser tried to make good on his threat from ep. 407 to throw him in "tonight's stew", I'm sure he'd rip out the grumpy fuck's fucking throat. Which Ghost ought to do early on in s6 anyways...

One of my unsullied friends asked after the Sam/Gilly scene, "wait, why didn't Ghost go with Jon?" And I said, "Because Ghost never goes with Jon on the show." I try not to complain about this overmuch, since I'm sure the direwolves are Hell on wheels to get right, and I would rather them get it right. But I really miss having the woofies around more often.

I actually thought she looked very pretty, except for the bruises My mum made a few choice remarks about her boobs, I'll tell you that much. I noticed that, too, was afraid for a minute there that she'd fall out right of her undergarment in front of Theon. Something I hadn't mentioned before. I turned on the TV yesterday while I was doing something else in the kitchen, and it was still tuned to HBO. I caught the tail-end of a rebroadcast of 5.07. I hadn't looked so closely before at HS's face as Cersei was being dragged away. Camera lingered on his face for quite some time, and I couldn't quite figure out if there was a trace of a smile or not. There wasn't anything overt that I could tell (I wound it back several times), but I thought there was a slight trace of satisfaction (self-satisfaction?). What did everybody else think?

His chest is moving, so I suppose he's pretty excited to see her being arrested, but tries to hide it in this pokerface. Excellent acting by Jonathan Price.

Kings landing was very good this time, I liked pretty much all the scenes though I’m not that impressed with Tommen. Jonathan Pryce is great, in the books I didn’t even pay much attention to the high sparrow. I still don’t like how they potray the faith militant in general though. I wish they would be concerned about the urgent social problems in the city instead of persecuting homosexuals and pushing down beer barrels. I also completely agreed with Olenna when she pointed out there are much worse crimes going unpunished. Anyway lots of good performances in KL. Along with Pryce, I think Headey and Dormer did very well. In the Faith Militant's defense, a lot of the social problems in Kings Landing probably do relate to alcohol - alcohol does increase the likelihood of an individual partaking in violence, vandalism, theft, gambling, extra-marital sex, and other anti-social behaviors. And money spent on alcohol isn't being spent on education, medicine, food, better housing, ect. Further, alcoholism in the monarchy and on the Small Council is one of the reasons that the city is governed so poorly. And they are running soup kitchens. I agree that the Faith Militant's policies are problematic. But they're probably broadly correct in targeting corrupt leaders and alcohol as some of the biggest social problems.

Spot on performance by Jonathan Pryce, wasn't it?! I mean, they really hit a home-run casting him because it takes very good acting to be able to pull off facial expressions that convey messages or leave the watcher wondering what the character is thinking and he just nailed it. I got a sense of carefully veiled satisfaction happening there. Justice would be what he calls it. One thing I've noticed this season is how much more meaningful the actors have been portraying their characters emotions and facial expressions. Even Kit's nailed it this year with some great looks for Jon Snow, when Stannis offered to make him Lord of Winterfell, and when Mel said "You know nothing Jon Snow" were particularly good for him! Iain Glen also really brought out the emotion in that tear-jerker moment when Tyrion tells him his Father was killed.
