Can they stop portraying Stannis as a desperately horny lad? I firmly believe that was for my benefit

Can they stop portraying Stannis as a desperately horny lad? NO! Because Jon is strong, and Stannis is weak! As we all know, an iron will, militarily focused mind, feats such as holding a castle for about a year under siege and victories against men far more experienced than himself indicate that Stannis is internaly weak, whereas Jon who joined the nights watch because he was inspired by stories is a far stronger man and we should bloody well respect him!

It's Stannis' batcave!

The more I think about the more convinced I am that Stannis dies this season and Shireen burns

I kinda hate Liam and Carice. Why did they have to talk about shocking event that feels like conclusion? They wrecked my joy of watching this season because I'm so nervous.

I didn't watch this episode but I've seen gif's of when Mel brought up burning Shireen. Isn't that a bit early? Mel knows whats beyond the wall and yet wants to waste her kings blood on the Bolton's? The Bolton's might be powerful within the context of the north currently but they're nothing compared to whats beyond the wall. It seems much too early for Mel to waste that resource when she's only got one go at it.

I dont get one thing. Selyse has kings blood. The Gardner's blood runs in the Florent's veins and weren't the Florents kings at one point? Do we care about Selyse? Can we just burn her? She'd probably be up for it!

There are 2 options:
1) Stannis says no, pray harder 2) Stannis says no, they try to do it, Stannis strikes Selyse down and Dave kills Mel

I don't think Mel dies this season. Not only is she likely to be needed at Castle Black, but she has a foreshadowed future meeting with Arya that has to happen first.

So we're thinking Shireen/Mel/Selyse stay with Stannis at the camp?
I always thought they, or at least Mel, would go back to the Wall because of For The Watch. But if they stay that changes things because Stannis is there. If he has any say it won't happen. But just because he says no doesn't mean Mel won't do it, depending on where Stannis is when they try...
Ugh thinking about this hurts me.

Maybe theyre intentionally misleading us, and its actually Davos killing Mel? Thats some vintage Davos right there! Remember that time he was gonna stab her? Stannis stopped him. He might not be so willing this time around... There are 2 options: 1) Stannis says no, pray harder 2) Stannis says no, they try to do it, Stannis strikes Selyse down and Dave kills Mel I endorse this theory! I remember laughing like hell when Stan started fondling Mel. I put the audio description on and it said "Stannis strokes her passionatley/he pulls her in for a kiss" it was like a fanfic audio book... Edit: Oh god I wrote Selyse instead of Mel! That isnt fanfiction. Its just plain creepy...

I really doubt this is going to happen. And why is she needed at Castle Black? I think Jon doesn't need to die and get resurrected. He can be just stabbed.

They had to put Thoros in there for some reason. And part of me thinks they cut LSH because it would lessen this impact.

Shireen will hopefully release the fire within and give Mel a taste of her own medicine.

To be honest, Mel being so blatant about Shireen being a potential sacrifice makes me quite confident that it's not going to happen. It's not really the type of plot point that I think would be telegraphed so openly if it was going to happen. I think it's really just there to make people shit themselves and worry for her. And it's working!

I'm completely euchred because of the whole Stannis/Shireen thing, I'm just a nervous wreck atm... Scared as hell and I'm not sure if I want or don't want to see the next three episodes... I just feel one of them, if not even both, are dead meat soon ... I really don't expect him to pull an Agamemnon, with Shireen being Iphigenia, not after 5x04, and damn, FUCK, she's at Castle Black in the books and he's around Winterfell, that wouldn't even be possible there!!! If the show makes it happen, and just invents that, then I'm done with it. Seriously. Done. But I'm sure Mel and/or Sel will try to sacrifice her, and horrible things will happen, probably to both Stannis and Shireen... there are just too many bad signs... The shots from 5x09 with Mel resp. Selyse, the episode description "Stannis faces a difficult decision", the teasers with the burning tents, Brienne still around in the North, Iwan and Stephen in videos with blood on their faces, generally the whole fact that they changed Shireen's/Selyse's situation to the books, noises that Liam and Carice made in interviews... ... I'm just pessimistic and depressed at the moment ETA: And I don't even want to think about Mel's newest prophecy... Herself on the battlements of WF, Bolton banners down... No word about Stannis or Baratheon banners up...

Well, but she has said in a previous interview that her... attention to Jon Snow was just beginning, implying there was more to come between Mel and Jon.
