^^^ I don't think Stannis will knowingly agree? I think Mel might say something like "We should have something in place if you die etc etc" and not tell him everything. He would want to know of course but she'd just say magic or something. Or she tells him nothing at all.
I truly doubt he'd knowingly let anything happen to Shireen. But again Mel will be going back to the Wall and can do what she wants. I think that Jon instead of Stannis theory is probably going to happen. Question is if Stannis will be dead or "dead" via the Pink Letter.

Folks on another board are trying to think of some way to save Shireen and someone came up with a good thought--Mel wouldn't need Shireen for her 'king's blood' if Stannis has Theon in custody. Give Theon to Mel, show, if you have to, in place of Shireen!

I believe so, but I could be mistaken. In any case, its back to that loose interpretation of what constitutes king's blood. |

Seriously, I didn't see Stannis' rejection of Mel's suggestion as any kind of proof that he's not going to eventually capitulate, just the opposite. Its the normal reaction of someone upon hearing a shocking, unthinkable suggestion for the first time. But, his situation is not truly dire yet, its just beginning to go downhill. He's lost 500 whoever sellswords, horses are dying, more will die overnight, but he's a military commander, that shit happens. But let it keep getting worse, and worse, and worse until its desperate, all the while that nasty red witch whispering about 'king's blood' and what 'god' needs for him to succeed...
