The Luckiest Girl Alive - Jessica Knoll.
I'm trying really hard to like this book, but I only like about every 4th chapter. Ugh.

I love Dunk and Egg so much If you haven't read them before, there is a scene in the Mystery Knight that is probably my favourite. Well, 2 actually Daemon II hitting on Dunk g "howl with me Ser" ) and anything with a young snot nosed Walder Frey

I've always heard good things about them.

After finishing Good Omens I started City of Thieves by David Benioff tonight, that's actually why I wondered if there was a thread like this here in this forum. Let's see how good of a writer David really is, I am enjoying it so far.

I am so mad they recast Tom's part and instead of Evans it's gonna be Theroux. Talk about the obvious bad guy :/ And here I was thinking yey Chris is gonna have something new to do! :/ Also I think Ferguson is gonna make Anna so likable. I hated Anna when I was reading the book but I cannot hate Rebecca

When I read the book, I pictured Chris Evans the whole time and he was perfect. Theroux just isn't innocent looking enough.

He looks like a rapist to me Also the way Tom was described made me think of someone who looks likable and non-threatening like Paul Rudd or Evans. The only leverage they have now is that the casting of Leto can be a red flag - he doesn't look like a normal, friendly person either so at least there's gonna be 2 suspects for the movie audience Why didn't you like Luckiest Girl Alive?

That's true! I forgot about Leto's casting. He could look like a murderer too. Exactly, Tom should be super hot and fun looking. Theroux....nah. My problem with Luckiest Girl Alive was mostly Ani. I thought she was just awful. I was willing to give her a pass at the beginning of the book because I knew something bad had happened to her, but teenage Ani and adult Ani had the same voice. She was a bitchy mean girl as a kid, and a bitchy mean girl as an adult. Nothing changed. You'd think someone who went through trauma like that might actually try to adjust, but she just stayed the same. I could barely differentiate 14 vs 28 year old Ani, and I thought that was a big fail on the writer's part. I also think she tried way too hard to be Gillian Flynn, but Ani isn't Amy or Libby or Camille. The most interesting part for me was chapter 12, and the chapter when she meets That guy whose name is escaping me right now again. The one that was paralyzed. Those were the most interesting chapters, and they were the only ones where Ani felt a little different.

Yeah the Flynn aspirations were thinly wailed in this one I did kinda like Ani as an adult because in the end she finally did the right thing. Also the whole way she just turned everything around was fun to read, but the most exciting thing was the pivotal chapter, I wonder if they are gonna pull it off in the adaptation

It's not like she has a "Cool girl" speech to get people to see her POV. I can't see many people enjoying watching her for 2 hours. lol I really think that Knoll also took liberties from Laura Lippman's book To The Power of Three as well. At least with the teenage chapters. They felt similar at times, only Lippman is a better writer.
