Currently rereading AFFC and ADWD, alternately, trying to stay ahead of content the tv series is covering. But have other books in the works, too. So many books, so little time, sigh.
The Girl on the Train is one of the next on my list, as are the Outlander books (watching tv series now). Aside from fantasy, I love mysteries and am in two different mystery book clubs, currently reading Cara Black's books. Somewhere I have an article saved that GRRM posted in which he gives suggestions about books his fans may want to read while waiting for TWOW. I had forgotten all about it until now. Another I'd forgotten about until this thread is the Dunk and Egg series which I started a couple of years ago, then somehow got distracted.

I'm reading Dune Messiah right now. I'm also finishing up the Invisibles omnibus by Grant Morrison.

Just started reading "Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore" by Robin Sloan. The inside jacket summary caught my attention and the first couple of chapters been good. ETA - I'm now about a third of the way through. Nice easy read. Have no idea where the story is headed, but I'm really enjoying the ride.

Quite by accident I discovered a remarkable book, just out. Called The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage: The (Mostly) True Story of the First Computer by Sydney Padua. It’s kind of a graphic novel about Charles Babbage and Ada Byron King the Countess of Lovelace. Its a wonderful thing, the true story up front and a ‘pocket universe’ to extend it. Full of the most amusing historical footnotes. Padua is amazing she should do more of this kind of work. www.npr.org/2015/04/23/400178749/lovelace-and-babbage-is-a-thrilling-adventure

Just started Children of Dune. Already liking it better than Dune Messiah. Glad the Lady Jessica is back. Missed her in the last book.

I'm currently on the last third of Half a World. Any Abercrombie fans out there? I absolutely adore the First Law trilogy and tell everyone it's a mini Game of Thrones kind of series. Even some of the characters favor one another. Glokta / Tyrion! Anyway, as a result of my love for this I gave his new series a try and liked the first book, Half a King. I like the second book more and am eager to get the third one due out this summer. While First Law is raw and gritty, this new series is much lighter probably because the author is aiming for the YA with it. That said, he says he's going to return to the world of the First Law and start a new trilogy, when he finishes the YA one, which will cater to adults as he usually does.
I highly recommend it!

I've heard so many rave reviews about Bernard Cornwell over the years that I finally took the plunge. Rather that immersing myself in the Sharpe (or another of his) series, I chose "The Archer's Tale" and I'm impressed with how quickly I became lost in the story. Looks like I've got a lot of good reading ahead of me. really recommend warlord chronicles, imo his best work

It deals with the American Civil War, I believe? Generally, what does the Warlord Chronicles cover?

Lords of the North, Children of Dune, First Law Trilogy, Dune Messiah - Will I ever find time to sleep again? I've read 3 of the 4 you have listed here so I say, no sleep for a while But they'll be great sleepless nights. And now I have to read Lords of the North so I can talk to you about all of these!

Lords of the North, Children of Dune, First Law Trilogy, Dune Messiah - Will I ever find time to sleep again? "Sleep is good," said Tyrion Lannister "but books are better."
