I'm just soooooo sad and upset Arya may end up going west of Westeros alone when she has always been about family and having a pack and going home. I wish that "west of Westeros" line had never been included, it opened the gates to a terrible conclusion for Arya. Sorry for being a downer and assuming that's what is going to happen, but the way the show is going, I can't help but feel they will do this. I don't want to believe it, I shouldn't believe it based on Arya's arc this season, and yet, seeing the direction the show is taking and how D&D care more about subverting expectations than giving the characters a satisfying ending, is where my head is at the moment. Argh why are they doing this??? why?? I don't think you're being a downer for assuming that; I also can't see why they'd throw in that line so casually if they weren't going to follow through with it.
But to be honest, Arya returning home but finding that she and her family have changed and deciding instead to go alone sounds more like GRRM. Assuming we ever get an ending to the books, the development to reach that point will almost certainly be more consistent than it was in the show, but I feel like that's his outcome for Arya too.
At this point the only person I'm certain who'll end up with a happy ending is Sam. The last episode is gonna be super depressing for everyone else, audience included.

I’m also hoping someone does a Hairspray “I can hear the bells” paradoy/mockery... I had two songs stuck in my head all day yesterday, "I Can Hear the Bells" from Hairspray, and "The Bells of Notre Dame" from Hunchback, just because of that episode title. Sing the bells, bells, bells, bells ... bells, bells, bells, bells, beeeells of Noooootreeee Daaaaaaaame! Dany definitely channelled her inner Frollo this episode

The main issue is that there are no scenes of Arya feeling out of place in Winterfell. As far as we know she has been allowed to do her own thing, is getting along with her family, she has a kindred spirit in Brienne... If they had included at least half a scene in which Arya contemplates how her family is not the same and she feels like she doesn't belong anymore I could at least see a motivation. But they haven't. We see Arya saying how they are family and need to protect each other and next thing you know she's leaving WF and doesn't plan to come back, and the next episode she lets go of her list so she can live and behaves more like pre-Braavos Arya and I'm supposed to believe all that leads to her going away on her own. Even if the show paints that as a good thing for Arya, I won't be ok with it because it hasn't been set up. But I agree about everyone getting an awful ending. Forget bittersweet, this show is going to end in the most bitter way possible. ETA: I mean one of the reasons Arya went to Braavos and followed such a dark path was because she thought she was alone. The second she found out Jon and Sansa were in WF she went North, her list wasn't a part of her plot until episode 8.04. The reason she has been more like her old self is because she has been reunited with people from her past. Making her end up alone is just cruel.

I agree with everything Enid said about Arya. Going off alone is a sad conclusion to her character and one I hope to avoid.

I’d prepare for double disappointment. I expect her to kill Dany and then sail off so worst of both worlds.
It wouldnt shock me if she used the face from the kiddy winkle Varys was corrupting to do it either

I third what Enid said about Arya. If her listening to the Hound about revenge against Cersei is her choosing life-I hope that horse leads her back to Winterfell or a life with Gendry. I also loved reading TheMadQueen's take on Cersei and her final moments. I find the fans give these characters more time, attention and love than the writers of the show do. Cleganebowl was shot wonderfully and it took me a minute to realize that the Mountain took out the Hound's eye (probably because I find eyes gross and was cringing when it was happening). I have been harsh on Emilia's acting but she's done a great job this season.

Gregor was clearly ready to go full mountain and the viper there. Cringe inducing

Did someone just compare me to Kelly Anne Conway...? Ha, i only meant because much like Kelly Anne during Trump’s campaign you are fighting a hell of a battle trying to spin the bullshit that the D’s and their cohort spout outside of the episode into something that makes sense. They should really just shut up because pretty much everything they say is bullshit weird but ok

In spite of the writing, the acting was superb this episode from pretty much everyone.
Jacob Anderson in particular has been really good in the last two, for someone whose role is largely monotonous. Even if it's sad to see Grey Worm go this way, I think he sells it very well.

The acting this season has been incredible. Maisie has nailed every scene, same with Emilia, who surely hates what they have done to Dany this last season.

Also waiting for Davey’s proper reaction to Cleganebowl. We waited 8 seasons for your reaction Davey, don’t let us down now! I’m also hoping someone does a Hairspray “I can hear the bells” paradoy/mockery... I need some time to process. Honestly it was a roller coaster of emotions for me. I want to digest it all and compose my thoughts later this week, but I will. As soon as the episode ended my friends said "we'll rewind it back to CLEGANEBOWL for you." me: (sniff) "...thanks."

I'm just thinking about shows that were suddenly canceled and the writers had to come up with a rushed ending to wrap everything up in a few episodes because they literally had no more time, and how D&D actually had full support from HBO to give GoT the ending it deserved but refused so they can move on to SW, and I just get so upset they didn't appreciate the gift they were given.
Like, if I were the showrunners from Rome I would be banging on D&D's door to punch them in the face.

This whole season has seem the best acting on the show since the days of Charles Dance and Michelle Fairley.

I think about shows that I really enjoyed where they didn't even get a two MOVIE to wrap things up (Colony, damn you USA network). D&D had all the support from HBO to take the time they needed to end the show but once SW came calling, they were like It really sucks. Because while some of the actors do have material and are out acting that material (Hi Maisie, Emilia, Gwen, and NCW), some have been given NOTHING to do (Kit and Lena up until the 5th episode).

So... The Golden Company huh? Funniest scene of the season seeing the entire company destroyed in like 10 seconds. Except for the horse, which survives, somehow, and apparently runs into the burning city instead of away from it One of the reviewers i watch pointed out this is just another in he list of stuff the show builds up and fails to deliver on - the NK, prophecies, the GC
