I've been posting Always Sunny memes for years, surprised you only recently got into it. Well, most people in Germany are probably not even aware of this show's existence. As far as I know, only the first few seasons were ever aired on German TV, and that was like in 2010. Unfortunately, it's not available on German Netflix either, which really sucks monkey balls.  Obviously I've seen some of the memes and gifs being posted here, but without any context. I had no idea what kind of a show this is until I started watching it.  |

The show's popularity here in America didn't take off until later seasons. In fact, it was going to be canceled after its first season, but Danny DeVito was a fan and offered to be on the show to save it. |

Every year the marketing depicts the gang as a different cliche, hair bands, children of the damned, etc. That year was a send-up of Ingmar Bergman arthouse films and it was my favorite.

I think it shows that they're quite intelligent and well versed in not just pop culture, but art and cinema. It's amazing that they are fans of Bergman and also made an episode called Who Pooped the Bed?
