So do we think that Dennis murdered Brian LeFevre? I've read that theory and it was pretty funny. I kind of see Dennis as more of a psychological warfare type of guy than a back-alley murder. But perhaps if he was browned out...

The Nightman Cometh is the only musical that both Basil and I love.

Speaking of which, the lyrics to the Nightman song are super dark and twisted. I guess the implication is that Charlie was indeed molested when he was little, probably by his uncle Jack, and so that's why he wrote that song, to deal with his trauma.
It's really depressing stuff, but I kind of love this about this show, there is often a really dark undertone to all the funnies.

Yeah, and watching the show as it aired everything was so subtle and spaced out. Then going back and rewatching you put the pieces together and are like oh my God that is dark. Then there's rum ham which made me cry.

Then there's rum ham which made me cry. I think we can all agree that it should have been Mac.

I also find the relationships between some of the characters super interesting. Even though Dennis loves to insult Dee and blame her for stuff, I think they both share a very deep bond, maybe even the strongest bond of all the characters in the show. And what's funny is, I think it's actually stronger on Dennis' side, I think he is more dependent on her than she is on him. Charlie is a pure soul, I don't think he would be so cruel to Dee if it weren't for Mac's and Dennis's influence. Honestly, I think a lot of the gang's evil comes from Dennis, he is a very maniuplative and corruptive force. Without him, Mac and especially Charlie would probably be much more decent people, maybe even halfway functional. The episode where Dee gave birth made me feel incredibly wistful on a rewatch. The baby was already starting to make them better people, but of course they just went back to their old ways by the end of the episode.
