Yep, yep. While the HK scandal from last year was an utter shitshow, it could have been written off as a really bad PR snafu or something ... but this is impossible to defend or explain, it's just sickening. They have forever tarnished their reputation and short of the entire executive floor resigning, I don't think there's a coming back from this for Blizzard.
Hard to reconcile my disgust with Blizzard with my love for Overwatch.

Is anyone following the Blue Box Conspiracy thing? Basically the gist of it is, Blue Box is a small indie studio that a few months ago announced a horror game named Abandoned. But because there was a lot of weirdness as well as some really bizarre coincidences surrounding the announcement, people on twitter and reddit have started to suspect that Blue Box does not actually exist, and this whole thing is an elaborate ARG set up by Konami and Hideo Kojima, to mask the announcement of a new Silent Hill game. There's actually quite a bit pointing in that direction, and this is also the exact kind of shit that Kojima has pulled in the past, so there's a clear precedent for it, too. There's an entire subreddit dedicated to this whole thing and while personally I'm not quite convinced that it's Kojima, I've been following it cause it's super fun. Anyway, Blue Box just made this tweet and I'm sitting here laughing my ass off: Like they literally put a blurry fucking Solid Snake in the background. I can't ... Seriously, at this point, either this really is a huge Kojima ARG (which despite everything, I still find very hard to believe), or Blue Box are the biggest trolls in the history of gaming. And if that's the case, when this turns out to be what it probably is, a low quality budget horror game that no one will play, the hate they'll gonna receive will be out of this world.

I still have no PS5, hopefully by Christmas time I can get my hands on one 😩
I’ve been replaying Witcher 3. Gonna make all the opposite decisions I made on my first play through, to get an alternate ending hopefully. Cause the one I originally got was the real tragic one lol, I would like to get a happier ending this time around.

Excited for God of War Ragnarok as well, but also a little bit worried. I loved the first game a lot, but the first game felt like a prologue set up for a much, much larger story. So I was really hoping they would at least tease some major story developments or some huge set pieces and boss fights in this, but the trailer is super lowkey, and it makes the game feel and look exactly like its prequel.
I really hope I'm wrong, I hope the game is a step forward and not just more of the same, but this trailer gives me stroooong filler episode vibes.

Yeeeeeeeeeee! They made my man beautiful. Also pretty sure that's Jenn Hale doing the voice over. Original VA ftw!

They'll probably also give Revan a voice actor this time, I don't think a silent protagonist would fly nowadays.

Probably. They did give him a VA in The Old Republic who wasn't too bad as Revan, that is if they go with a male Revan. They could give us a VA choice, or go in a completely different direction.
I'm onboard all the way regardless.

Would you recommend the first game for someone with no clue about the rest of the franchise before it? I was tempted to look at it a while back, but saw that it was something like the eighth game in the series and that kinda put me off.
I know you spoke very highly of the first when it came out, and this new one looks pretty cool, but I feel I'd be a bit lost if I just jumped into it.

Yes, absolutely! I had also not played every God of War leading up to it, but I didn't have any issues following the story. It really is more of a soft reboot than a sequel, with a new story, setting and characters. The events of the previous games are acknowledged, but the story doesn't build upon them at all, it's just something that's happened in Kratos' past and has shaped him into the person we see in the new game. If you watched like a brief ten minutes summary of the events of the previous games on YouTube ( this one for example), that would be more than enough. And even if you didn't, it still wouldn't hurt your enjoyment of God of War 4, I don't think. It's one of my favourite games of recent years, so I would highly recommend checking it out. The writing and characters are really fucking great, and the depiction of Norse mythology is fantastic.

I love the fact that they made God of War Thor fat and unwashed and people on Twitter are freaking out because they were expecting Chris Hemsworth.

Great to hear! I'll definitely give it a go at some point. oh shit, I just realized that the GoW Ragnarok trailer contains some MAJOR spoilers for the first game. So please don't watch if you plan on playing it. Bit late for that oops I knew there'd be a risk of that anyway Nothing really came across to me as super spoilery anyway so hopefully I'll have forgotten the details by the time I get round to playing it!

Not sure if any of you are into the Souls clones but I've been playing Salt and Sanctuary all weekend and it's awesome. Very challenging and dark, obviously inspired by Dark Souls, but it's a 2d side scroller. I can't get enough of it.

Now that you mention it, I actually bought Salt and Sanctuary on PSN a couple of years ago because I saw it on sale, but have not actually played it yet. I should probably do that at some point. And speaking of 2D Soulsborne clones, Blasphemous is another really amazing one. Not just in terms of gameplay, but the lore as well is veeeery reminiscent of Dark Souls, in just how dark and cryptic the whole thing is. And the pixel art might be the most stunning I've ever seen. Would very much recommend to anyone who enjoys Dark Souls and/or metroidvanias.
I haven't had too much time for gaming lately, but I have been playing some Hades here and there and really loving it.

Yet another step closer to living in a dystopian capitalist hellscape ruled by megacorps. What an incredible power move on Microsoft's part.
