i just finished and i am still WHAT THE FUCK
so the whole story with William and Dolores was just an elaborate origin story for the Man in Black.
Ford's "narrative" was to unleash the robots on mankind (I think?)
Maeve is going back for her daughter
Wtf is going on with armistice, that after credits scene seemed kind of random.
Where tf are elsie and stubbs?!?
And what is the deal with arnold, dolores, and wyatt. i still don't get it.
AND what was with dolores dying on the beach just being a performance??
Overall, wow. this show is fuckin wild. i like how much of a mindfuck it is, although its almost a little TOO much of a mindfuck because the season is over and i still don't get it. either i'm dumb or they made it a little too convoluted.

Yes the biggest flaw of this is that they expect anyone to believe Jimmi Simpson turns into the God of Charisma. I thought William was always a nihilist and the park helped him unleash the ruthless side of him that was already there. There was no love story - he gave up on Dolores so fast. Evan Rachel Wood and day dreamer disagree with me Yeah Ford was plotting to do that - he spoke of how humans reached their last state of evolution. So in his mind robots are the next. That post credits scene was just something Nolan thought would be fun Elsie and Stubbs are most likely still alive somewhere Wyatt was a character Arnold was working on. He uploaded it into Dolores so that she could kill him. In the end Dolores embraced that persona again except now killing out of her own volition not programming That was just a coincidence. Ford would sell anything as a teaser for his narrative. His goal was to get the board members there under pretense

So what's next season, then? Robots vs humans? And wtf is with all the samurai stuff?
so arnold was a good guy and ford was a megalomaniac, and arnold sacrificed himself for the good of the hosts.
and now dolores is a villain.
shook.

Well who is a villain depends on which side one is on Samurai stuff is there to hint there are other parks, not just Westworld. I assumed it was featured so that when the help comes to the park they can just say it came from another park, not the outside world (we dont know what the fuck outside world is like in the show). But some said it would be cool if action took place there too. No one knows anything other than Evan and Ed are definitely returning and the show starts shooting in summer. But Ed is talking to anyone who interviews him in London atm so we are bound to find out more as long as he has a play there and BBC drops by to talk to him Nolan also said they will show us guest experience before mayhem so I assume there will be some flashbacks again

so was arnold still alive when william and logan went to the park? No. Arnold died before the park opened. He objected to the idea of opening the park because of the hosts being sentient

He objected to the idea of opening the park because of the hosts being sentient ugh im so confused. so ford was originally against making the hosts sentient because he wanted them to be under his control, but arnold wanted to make them more self-aware. eventually, he made them so sentient that he didn't want the park to open because the people would hurt the robots. so, he made dolores kill a bunch of hosts and him so the park couldn't open. but ford opened it anyway, but started to agree with arnold that the hosts should be sentient. so over time he started following arnold's footsteps until he could unleash the hosts upon the humans. sorry for the essay. does that sound right?

i just realized that all of dolores' conversations with "bernard" are actually flashbacks to her convos with arnold. OMG.
So dolores basically does nothing in the present day until like the last two episodes? every time she's in the blue dress, its the past, right?

Actually I would say that Dolores' conversations with Arnold are actually conversations with herself. She references 'the newcomers' who would not be in the park when Arnold was alive. It's her questioning the reality she lives in and coming to full sentience. In episode 10 you see "Arnold" coming to sit before her but it turns into herself. Sati did a good breakdown of the different timelines and what we see Dolores doing in the "present" timeline

stoneheartsrevenge actually I don't think so. Why would Dolores be reading Alice in wonderland to herself? And talk about a dead son she never had? I think it was def Arnold.

Those scenes are confusing indeed. I think some of those are actual flashbacks and some of those are just Dolores remembering Arnold who kinda manifests himself in the form of her internal dialogue (like the scene where she remembers what she has done to him)
